I Think I Need a Loan: 2 MILLION Yen Mazinger Z photo

How would you like to trade in your car in order to get Mazinger Z?  I would do it in a heartbeat for an actual usable robot, but you're still gonna have to come up with over $20,000 U.S. Dollars if you want this new Mazinger Z.  Debuting yesterday at Tamashii Nation, the 2 Million Yen Mazinger Z is part of a new line called Urban Material Chogokin.  If you're wondering why a 60 cm tall figure is worth 20 grand, it's because it is made from Titanium Carbon.  If it sounds familiar, that's because it's the same material that is used to make the atmospheric re-entry tiles for the space shuttle.  This thing will most likely never be scratched and is near-indestructable, unless your little sister starts messing with it, at which point all bets are off.

This just boggles my mind as to how awesome this is.  I could strap this thing to the space shuttle and still have it make it back.  I don't even know who could afford a 20k figure, let alone want to spend said money on the Mazinger Z.  Now if you'll excuse, I'll be cleaning my pants and preparing a loan application.

If only this had come out in time for Space Bat to wear it. R.I.P. Space Bat.
holy shit
That's pretty awesome. I would love to see a 1:1 scale Hover Pinder. That would make me jizz my pants.
Overuse of mesh pattern much?
Overuse of mesh pattern much?

Due the material used, its actually the chemical arrangement of titanium carbide. I'm not overly familiar with it, but that's what would seem to be the inspiration for it.
Andres, you and me both know you wouldn't be cleaning your pants. I would doing that for you, and then fold them and put them away. ^_^
I would imagine Titanium Carbide would be similar to Carbon Fiber. In which case the best way to apply it is with a uniformed mesh. Kinda like fiberglass, only much neater.
