Hot Toys' TDKR Catwoman may be the purrrfect pre-orderHot Toys' 1:6 scale The Dark Knight Rises Catwoman (or the Hathaway Catwoman) was originally teased at just about the worst possible time. While Hot Toys can hardly be blamed for the rather unfortunate timing, many toy news outlets (including the conscientious collectors here at Tomopop) chose to not run the story in light of the more tragic news of the day so it kind of flew under the radar. As such, we're only now talking about this rather excellent new entry in the Hot Toys line as it goes up for pre-order. When Anne Hathaway was announced as Catwoman, a good many fans (including the ever-humble Scarecroodle) had their doubts. Anne Hathaway, after all, seemed more of a girl (or girl next door) than a woman especially one as sultry as Catwoman. However, Hathaway's performance as Selina Kyle / Catwoman was commendable and she really brought her own brand of sex appeal to the role. An appeal, no doubt, that will help sell some Hot Toys. The figure will feature a "movie-accurate head sculpt", detailed costume, and some alternate parts as well as a handgun accessory and goggles. The only downside? It seems that the body is a standard buck rather than an anatomically proportional Anne Hathaway mold. Well, maybe someday, right? Anyway, the Hot Toys Hathaway Catwoman is an excellent-looking piece which I fancy to be on par with the Black Widow (what's up with these bodysuits anyway?). And, if you're anything like me, you may thought that the costumed Hathaway almost looked like a toy and now you can pre-order one strongly resembling the real thing. ...what? Was I the only one to think that? At any rate, Hot Toys Catwoman is currently available for pre-order and has a roughly US$195 MSRP. She's set to release early next year. Certain retailers (like Sideshow Collectibles) will carry a special edition which also includes a 1:6 scale Batman mask accessory. Anybody here planning on adopting one?
