[UPDATE] The Queen's Gate cart rides again with PyrrahOnce again, Hobby Japan is dipping in to the Queen's Gate series to provide us with, what will inevitably be, a limited figure of one of the characters from their gamebook series. However, instead of following any kind of order like, say the release order of each book, Hobby Japan have decided to skip over Taki from Soul Calibur (Boo!!) and Kanu Unchou from Koihime Musou (bet you thought I was going to say Ikkitousen, didn't you? Also, Boo!!!) and went straight for their most recent release, which is Pyrrah Alexander from Soul Calibur V. The figure uses a similar action effect to the Lili figure a while back with her sword swing but my biggest issue with the figure is that they used the artwork from the gamebook for her design. While I guess that is to be expected, the problem is that the gamebook art looks awful! The artist really went overboard with the "moe" effect and basically replaced her head with a marshmallow! Despite Pyrrah being my main in SCV, this figure doesn't really do anything for me and it's almost impossible to think of Pyrrah as a fighter on any level with that face. Heck, even Noel Vermillion looks more intimidating! What do you think, readers? Hopefully, Hobby Japan will go back and make figures for the books they missed this time around. I'd love to see a good Taki figure! Then again, a figure of their next release, Idol Janshi Suchie-Pai would be interesting. (for those who don't know, it's an "adult" mahjong game series which was released only in Japan. The version of Mahjong played is the gambling type, like that seen in the anime Saki, as opposed to the matching tiles type you're more likely to see in the west). [via 2ch] [UPDATE: Hobby Japan has updated their website with larger shots seen on the scans. Yes, her face still looks like a marshmallow but now so do her breasts! There's also a larger shot of the poster which will come with the figure if you order the special edition. She's up for pre-order over at Tokyo Hunter now if you want to add her to your collection!] Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
