HG 1/144 Strike Freedom works for 7-11 in Japan

Great, now I want Gunpla and a Slurpee

Like most other American stores in Japan, they get better stuff than the ones here. Whether its 7-layer Whoppers or exclusive Gunpla and Miku figures, Japan always gets the better deal. Continuing that tradition is the latest Gunpla kit, a retool of the original HG 1/144 Strike Freedom Gundam kit into colors befitting 7-11.

As odd as this particular kit may sounds, it's only been a matter of time for a 7-11 variant. There have been previous releases for 7-11 branded kits, including the original RX-78-2 Gundam, Char's Zaku II and Bearguy among others. As for the Strike Freedom, it is the GFT version, so it will come with the stand that was originally included to reproduce the display at Gundam Front Tokyo. Also packed in will be a 1/144 Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne figure, of which I hope that no one drops onto a carpeted floor.

The kit itself will retail for ¥1,680 and will be available for pickup in April at the Gundam Front Tokyo or through 7-11's online shop. Those last two details won't mean anything to you as you will have to go through a proxy in order to have it arrive at your non-Japanese home.
