Sure, the figure market is full of stuff we want to buy. I certainly can't complain about the amount of good figures there already are on the market (not to mention all the good stuff coming -- calm it down, Japan!). A recent internal email had all of us here at Tomopop chatting about the figures that we wish existed, though -- and we soon found that each of us had quite a list.
I thought you might have a list of your own, so we decided to share our wishlists with you, see if any of you had in fact harbored the same wishes (or even gone as far as to make them yourselves!). Mind you, ours aren't in order of importance, but just a solid laundry list of all the characters we wished to own in figure form. Anyway, hit the jump and come with me into a delicious universe where every toy you've ever wanted to own is real!

20. Korumaru/Persona 3
Persona 3's lovable canine was actually based off famous Japanese dog Hachiko, who was considered the consummate definition of loyalty. Yes, I realize some of you with photographic toy memory are going to mention that wretched dog that came packed with the Butterfly's Dream Choc dog ver. figure as an acceptable substitute, and all I can say is, that dog and Korumaru have nothing in common at ALL.

19. Sawako/ Kimi ni Todoke
Sawako is one of those anime characters that simply captures our heart instantly. The female protagonist of Kimi ni Todoke is equal parts shy and charming, and I can easily imagine her as a perfect Figma just waiting to be removed from her box and molded into many different poses. GET ON THIS, MAX FACTORY!
18. Kazehaya/Kimi ni Todoke
Two thoughts for you here: one, I can duplicate key romantic scenes from Kimi ni Todoke if there is also a Kazehaya poseable figure. Two, if Max Factory was to distribute said figure in a two pack, I would probably fall on the floor and die from fangirl glee.

17. Xellos/ Slayers
This series doesn't have enough good figures in general if you ask me, but a figure of Xellos in particular would be most appreciated. It was also suggested by our own Rio McCarthy that Zelgadis and Lina figures would be welcome additions to her shelf, as well.

16. The Demi-Fiend/ Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
I've seen a lot of customs of this guy, and the reason why a real distributed figure of him does not exist is beyond me. He's absolutely killer looking, and he's half naked. That's about all I really need for motivation to want to own him, really. Well, that and he also just happens to be from one of the best PS2 RPGs in existence.
15. Vampire Princess Miyu and Larva/ Vampire Princess Miyu
Let me clarify on this one that Miyu and Larva figures actually do exist. There were a series of twelve inch dolls made by Tsukuda Hobby, and I'm still in hot pursuit of the Larva one (or Rava as they call him on the box). However, a good PVC figure of either or both of these characters is something I would pay dearly for. Considering the age of the series, I think a custom is pretty much my only hope, though.

14. Fran/ Final Fantasy XII
Yes, there are Fran figures already -- we have reviewed them, in fact. Square-Enix was kind enough to make a full-sized statue of both Balthier and Fran, but if you didn't have $300 to shell out, it was likely out of your price range. What I want is a nice 1/8th scale PVC of this beauty, and the fact that one doesn't exist is a crying shame, especially considering her excellent character design (translation: hot body).

13. Kefka/ Final Fantasy VI
Square actually covered this when they made the Master Creatures Kefka, but what we want is something more like a Figma -- fully poseable. In the meantime, we'll have to settle for our own Rio McCarthy's custom take on this memorable villain, which is probably the next best thing to a poseable figure.

12. Keitaro/ Love Hina
Easily one of the most beloved characters in anime history to me, Keitaro was totally stiffed when it came to collectible figures. I've lamented it in our previous talks on the subject of the male figure market, but pretty much the only figure you can find of this guy is the top half of his torso sticking out of a bathtub as a part of a really crappy trading figure. It's sad.
11. Full cast/ Persona 4
It's a testament to the male domination of the figure market that we've had three figures from this incredibly popular game so far, and they've been of Rise and Yukiko -- the "hot girls" -- and Teddie (but only as a small trading figure). We've long bitched about our desire to see Kanji, Chie, Naoto, Yosuke and the Protagonist in figure form, and while we aren't holding our breath, there's always hope that one day it'll happen.

10. Crono/ Chrono Trigger
The funny thing about this one is that when we started talking about the idea of writing this feature, a good figure of Crono did not exist. During New York Toy Fair, we found that Square Enix had come to the rescue. The Formation Arts series are not the larger scale figure of Crono I would ideally like to have, but I will most certainly buy them anyway.

9. Jack Frost/ Atlus mascot
The thing about this most wanted figure is that it also kind of already exists, as long as you have access to a Japanese proxy. The Atlus D shop has plenty to offer when it comes to Jack Frost memorabilia, and I've already spotted the Black Frost PVC floating around the internet as well. Getting your hands on it without spending a truckload of money, however, is a different story altogether. Can we have a Jack Frost PVC for the US market, Atlus?

8. Full cast/ Maison Ikkoku
Features editor Brian Szabelski informs me this is one of the best shows ever. I am quite a fan of Urusei Yatsura myself, so there's really no excuse for me not to have watched this show. One look at the characters tells me they deserve a better collectible future than just having one character pop up in a trading figures set.
7. Noriko/ Gunbuster (Yamashita ver.)
Yes, a figure of Noriko from seminal 80s classic anime Gunbuster already exists, and its quite good (and pretty affordable too). However, our own Pedro Cortes imagined her as a Shunya Yamashita design, and I have to admit that would be a droolingly gorgeous creation indeed.

6. Estelle/ Tales of Vesperia (1/8th scale)
Jonathan Tubbs, Managing Editor and all around badass, says he would very much like a full scale version of this pink haired beauty. We just learned at WonFes that the One Coin Trading figures are finally coming courtesy of Kotobukiya, but nothing full scale just yet for Miss Estelle. Tales fans can dream, I suppose.
5. Zelgadis/ Slayers
Nominated by multiple editors, Zelgadis is a much wanted figure, although several other characters were mentioned as well, including Xellos and Lina. I hate to admit that I have never watched this show, even though I have it on the shelf. Might do that this weekend and see what I was missing!

4. Hitomi/ Visions of Escaflowne
It;s hard to believe no figures of this classic character exist, isn't it? It seems many of the older series got looked over when it comes to collectibles. We've seen Max Factory take on a few characters from shows of the past, so perhaps they will see this request and consider it in the future.

3. Sailor Moon/ Sailor Moon (Figma ver)
There are tons of Sailor Moon toys on the market already, but when Brian mentioned the idea of Sailor Moon FIGMAS, many of our heads simply went boom. I cannot imagine how well these would sell, but I am pretty sure there are a lot of people who would love to see them on the market.
2. Captain Katsura/ Gintama
An absolutely delicious vision for Gintama and Captain Harlock fans alike, this is one on those anime moments that just really should be captured in PVC. Plus, Katsura is freaking hot. The end.
1. Adiane/ Gurren Lagann
Gurren Lagann's popularity has been a great help for figure collectors, and most of the key characters have already been immortalized in collectible fashion. However, Adiane would surely be a welcome addition, even as a trading figure. With a body like that, I'm surprised someone hasn't taken her on already!
And that's all she wrote for the most wanted of the Tomopop staff. What figures do you dream of when your head hits the pillow at night?
