Here's some sneak peeks of Doktor A, Amanda Spayd's works for Imaginary Menagerie photo

The Imaginary Menagerie is almost here, and ahead of the show, we're getting a few glimpses at some of the custom toys and plushes that will be on display. First up is Doktor A and his steampunk machines, Gregory Lumpling (a custom Buff Monster) and Mr. Reilly (a custom Kluth the R’Lyeh Student originally made by Sergey Safonov). Both look pretty cool, indeed, but I know Sergey had some mixed feelings about seeing his limited-run piece turned into a custom. Still, the good news is that Dok A has done some pretty good work here with all the pieces I've seen so far, both common and rarer ones.

Then there's this little teaser from Amanda Spayd, showing off one of her new critters she made for the show. Could it be a little soldier critter? Guess we'll have to wait to find out ... or you could spoil yourself by checking her Flickr gallery and seeing that yes, that's her theme.

The show will be held at OhNo!Doom (1800 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago) on Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Any Chicagoland readers thinking of attending?
