Hello, ladies: Mick Minogue's wooden Old Spice Guy figure

May 01 // Brian Szabelski    @brianszabelski

Irish artist Mick Minogue is one of the many folks participating in this weekend's Memes show at Gallery1988 Melrose in Los Angeles. As one of his two pieces for the show, he's decided to make a wooden toy of a familiar face: the Old Spice Guy (as portrayed by Isaiah Mustafa). Coming with a wild horse that you can sit him on, Old Spice Guy also has accessories that include "sweater armor," a towel, a bottle of Old Spice body wash, two tickets to that thing you love, and a diamond. He and the horse also have "move up and down gift presentation," which is a fancy way to say a joint on their arm (or leg, for the horse).

What's even better? Look at the box, then back to me, then back at the box, then back to me. It's a parody of the box style for the Masters of the Universe figure series and it looks pretty awesome. Old Spice Guy and Wild Horse will be on sale when the show opens Friday at Gallery1988 Melrose (7020 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles) and he'll probably sell quick, so heads up if you're looking to own him!
