Easily one of the biggest reasons why casual buyers don't bother with buying factory cases is not knowing what to do with all of the extras. Do you really need three of the same character? Factory cases just aren't designed with individuals in mind and are only meant to fill store shelves. The idea of a major toy manufacturer sticking one of every figure into a case in order to make it more attractive to single buyers rather than stores is ridiculous. It'll never, ever happen and we should just be satisfied with what we can hope to find on shelves.

Oh, well hello there Transformers Generations Deluxe Wave 2 Revision 1.

Looks like Hasbro got the message and is actually going to do a fan-friendly case made up entirely of new figures with zero duplicates! This is an amazing thing they're doing and could completely change the way we buy figures. No driving from store to store for weeks looking for a new assortment to come out. No competing with scalpers for the hardest to find figures. And no having to pay aftermarket prices to get that one figure that just didn't land in your area.

So, what's in this case?

  • 1x Optimus Prime (Fall of Cybertron)
  • 1x Jazz (Fall of Cybertron)
  • 1x Shockwave (Fall of Cybertron)
  • 1x Onslaught (Fall of Cybertron)
  • 1x Swindle (Fall of Cybertron)
  • 1x Vortex (Fall of Cybertron)
  • 1x Brawl (Fall of Cybertron)
  • 1x Blast-Off (Fall of Cybertron)

This may not be the way of the future, but I would certainly be up for more case assortments like this!

So did Hasbro suddenly get you excited for an instant collection of Fall of Cybertron figures? Pick a store and go get them! Expect this assortment to ship in September.
