Back in April Hasbro began their campaign to allow fans to take part in designing the first ever "Fan Built Bot". It kicked off with an initial poll asking fans to choose the bot's faction, alt mode, weapon, color, and personality. Hasbro has now opened part two of the poll which asks fans to choose the character's name, sex, origin location, and specialty.
Jay Duke, vice president of the TRANSFORMERS brand at Hasbro, mentions that you can probably get some hints about the results of the first round of polling in the choices for the second set of choices and he isn't kidding. What we know for sure is that the new bot will indeed be an Autobot. Judging by some of the name options like Autobot Eclipse and Charon (one of the moons of Pluto) it'll likely have a spaceship alt mode. However some of the name options are also fairly sinister sounding as Charon is also the name of the ferryman of the river Styx, while other options for Autobot Wrath and Cashtron could imply something about the personality choices. Also given the options for the character's specialty it's possible this character won't be carrying a gun for a weapon.
This phase of the poll runs only until Friday, May 17 so you've only got a week to get your vote in, but you're allowed to vote daily. Results for both phases and probably our first look at what we've collectively created will be revealed this summer at San Diego Comic Con when Hasbro officially kicks off the 30th anniversary of the Transformers franchise!
