Get back to monster training with Dragon Quest's Watabou

Get back to monster training with Dragon Quest's Watabou photo

With the new Dragon Quest Monsters game having been announced for Japan (that would be Terry's Wonderland), new merchandise from Square-Enix isn't too far behind. This time, the merchandise in question takes the form of the monster Watabou, who debuted in the first Dragon Quest Monsters as a sidekick to the hero/heroine. Just look at its roly-poly personage! Doesn't it bring to mind an alien snowman? I think so, too. I also dig the little blue toes sticking out from underneath his ginormous belly.

The Watabou plush is listed as part of the "Smile Slime" series of Dragon Quest merchandise, which is focused on the cuter, softer side of the series' bestiary. He is 180 millimeters tall. Watabou is available for pre-order now at the cost of ¥1680, with a ship date of late May.
