G.I. Joe: Retaliation figures shape up for this sequel

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra wasn't the greatest of movie masterpieces. In fact, it didn't feel like G.I. Joe. So hopefully the sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation will remedy all of that. Looking at the figures that USAToday revealed, it's starting to look like the G.I. Joe that us old folks grew up on.

The biggest thing to catch my eye from these movie-based action figures is Cobra Commander. He looks like how Cobra Commander should be with his trademark blue uniform and matching faceless helmet. Not only that, but the Cobra Trooper is dressed in the same signature blue and even has the Cobra organization logo imprinted on his helmet. Still trying for figure out what's going on with Zartan and his tight fitting outfit. Luckily good ol' Stormshadow is there to bring some awesomeness back to Cobra. However, Stormshadow is not alone for deadly ninjas as the Red Ninja will also be tagging along.

On the side of the Joe's, Duke is there dressed in the heroic green color of G.I. Joe. along with the generic G.I. Joe Trooper that Cobra can mow through. Of course there has to be the counterbalance to Cobra's ninjas with the just as awesome Snake Eyes. The one that has to be the big appeal from the Joe's side for this movie sequel is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson taking the role of tough guy Roadblock.

All these figures are slated to hit store shelves by May 28, 2012. I know I'm going to be disappointed when I see this movie after its May 29, 2012 release but I have to say that all these outfits have captured my attention. At least there will be explosions and kids love explosions! Good movie or not, do you see yourself at least picking these toys up with these much better designs?
