fMRI Jumping Brain by Emilio Garcia is shockingly colorful photo

Emilio Garcia, the artist responsible for the fantastically weird Jumping Brain figures, has a new design up his sleeve. A few days ago he posted pictures of this awesomely colored version on his flickr. The fMRi edition of this frog-legged cranium is based on the actual images produced by functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging, which produces a picture of an active brain.

Garcia has yet to release any information about this figure, so it might be a custom, or it might be another limited-edition run. I think we are all hoping for the latter, as this would be a stunning piece to add to any collection. The colors are breathtaking, and I am glad that he is still doing resin versions of this piece since the next edition will be a vinyl blind-boxed run.

One of a kind and gone. Too bad because it sure is wonderfully fun.
