Five new Sideshow pre-orders offer something for everyoneIt's been a while since we've mentioned Sideshow Collectibles' latest offerings, but here we are, with not one, not two, but five different pieces that have recently opened for pre-order. Quite a diverse selection, too, including Star Wars, movies and comic collectibles. Wondering what's new? Hit the jump to find out!
To start, there's the Captain Jack Sparrow, one of the Sideshow pieces we saw at San Diego Comic Con. Coming in April 2013, Jack Sparrow is US$379.99 and comes with a ton of well-sculpted accessories, like his flintlock pistol, sword and scabbard, compass and other bits and bobs hanging from his sash and belt. Those of you jumping on the Sideshow Exclusive variant get an alternate head, featuring Jack wearing his bandana, to swap out the regular head with.
Not feeling the call of the high seas but still in search of adventure? Then you might be interested in Sideshow's 1/5-scale Indiana Jones "Pursuit of the Ark" statue, featuring Indiana on horseback as seen in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Standing 23 inches tall, the statue is set for a June 2013 release and is the biggest and most expensive of the five pieces at US$499.99. The Sideshow Exclusive variant comes with an alternate hand for Indy that has him wielding a pistol.
The next entry in the DC Premium Format Figure line is also up for pre-order today, Green Lantern. A full 21 inches tall, Green Lantern is an April 2013 release at US$349.99. For those wondering what the Sideshow Exclusive version bonus is, it's a big green hard light fist construct on Lantern's right arm.
For Star Wars fans, there's two things to note. First is the next entry in the Star Wars Mythos line, the Gammorean Executioner. A hulking 19 inches tall or 1/5 scale, the big green guy will be releasing in March 2013 for US$324.99, but you can pre-order him now. Loving the detail on this piece, especially the base.
Finally, if you're collecting from the Star Wars Sixth Scale family, there's the Padawan Obi-Wan Sixth Scale figure. Fully articulated, the 12-inch-tall (1/6-scale) Obi-Wan features a head sculpted and handpainted to look like Ewan McGregor, with the Sideshow Exclusive variant adding a second "lightsaber duel" head to the mix. Both versions come with three sets of hands, two sets of boots, a full Jedi knight outfit based on the one Obi-Wan wore in Episode I, a lightsaber hilt and ignited blade, and a swappable hand that has a battery-powered illumination effect. He releases in February 2013 for US$149.99 [Pre-order at Sideshow Collectibles: Obi-Wan Padawan Sixth-Scale (regular, Sideshow Exclusive) | Indiana Jones "Pursuit of the Ark" (regular, Sideshow Exclusive) | Captain Jack Sparrow (Regular, Sideshow Exclusive) | Gamorrean Executioner | Green Lantern (Regular, Sideshow Exclusive)] Did you know?
