First Mate Piggy is the newest edition to Tonner Doll Company's Miss Piggy line photo

Piiiigs iiiiinnn Spaaaaaace. When we last saw the spaceship Swinetrek, First Mate Piggy had gotten zapped by a freeze ray, rendering her unable to move a muscle.

As a kid I was obsessed with becoming the first paleontologist-astronaut. The space obsessed half of me would always freak out during the Pigs in Space segments of the Muppet Show. Maybe it didn't have Gonzo, Kermit, or any of my other favorites, just having muppets acting goofy and traveling through the cosmos was amazing all the same. Finding out that the Tonner Doll Company has made First Mate Piggy their newest offering made me all smiles this morning.

As with all of Tonner's Dolls, Miss Piggy is huge. She's 16" tall, and her body and costume are intricately detailed. The only difference between the costume on this doll and that from the 30 year-old show is that you can see her feet.  While I don't know if I'll ever spend over a hundred dollars for a doll, the $160 that they're asking for this certainly seems worth it. Sideshow is distributing this space-faring swine, and will ship within a month from when your order is placed, just in time for Christmas. (Not that you have to get me any thing this year... hint, hint.)

While this is pretty cool, I wish Palisades didn't go bankrupt - their Muppet figures were awesome. RIP, Jim Henson...
