First 4 Figures shows off their Link and Epona, probably worth every rupee photo

Today we got word that First 4 Figures has set a regular and exclusive version of Link riding Epona up for pre-order! Community member hito was able to get a c-blog up before our own post went live, too. Lucky guy went and ordered the standard edition, which will run you US$424.99 without the help of a slight discount via F4F's newsletter (expires October 20). The exclusive version is priced at US$449.99. Thank goodness for the FlexPay option!

What we've got here is a 17" tall (and 16" long!) statue, limited to 1500 pieces for the standard and 500 for exclusive edition, both set for release during the second quarter of next year. They are a part of the Twilight Princess "Master Arts" line (Remember Midna and Wolf Link?), meant to be centerpieces to your collection.

Epona and Link look great in both versions, but somehow I'm a bit more drawn to the standard edition since it's all the right colors. The exclusive edition has this neat plated or metal look to it with a faux bronze finish, and was made for the 25th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda series.

Check out the gallery for three images of each edition sent to us from F4F, and tell us what you think!

Not liking the face sculpts on either one Oo
F4F makes sOme awfully derpy faces considering the prices, but this is one of the few that doesn't look too bad. Still won't throw down that kind of scratch for it, though.
My favorite still is Sheik. I'm sad I missed it.
Oh sure, no one commented on my community blog ;)

Yup, I was up past midnight thinking it would release on time on 9/20, but nooooo, it was more like 11am :P
BTW - Thanks for the props.
One more thing... I'd recommend ordering if you think you want it. You can always cancel your preorder if you can't save enough by Q2 2012.
His face is okay. It looks a bit odd, but not much.

I'd also prefer the regular version.

Anyway, too pricey for my taste.
The standard edition looks great, but it's really too expensive for this kind of figure, or better, I'd say ridiculous. The exclusive edition is ugly as hell, who would want to buy that? Just Epona looks cool there, but in more of a Berserk-fashioned way.
I will never been able to own this ;_;
Dear God, that's expensive as Hell! Being a gamer must make you even poorer than an otaku!
$450 for that herp da derp, screw that.

They partnered with max factory for Metroid I don't see why they cant do the same for LoZ. That way it would be much cheaper and Link's face wouldn't look like a dog had chewed on it.

I agree the exclusive is pretty freaky. The regular one I think is pretty nice (except the face to a degree, but its not that bad), though the price is horrendous! I can't believe how big it is either, holy goodness.
For some reason what bothers me most is the base. Why is there a giant tree stump right under Epona's feet? Doesn't seem like a very practical place to be doing that pose. XP lol
Each statue is hand painted and cast in polystone, so I'm not surprised with this price. It's prohibitively expensive for the average gamer, but I'm happy for anyone who can afford it.

To those saying the face is derpy, I disagree. This is pretty close, I think. Not exact, it's a little stylized, but you can tell what game it comes from (imo!).

I know WHY it's expensive. I just don't personally think that the way 75% of F4F's stuff looks is worth the price. But they usually can't make very good faces (remember Midna's eyeball trying to rocket out of her head?), so this one is probably their best. His face would look a lot better if his hair wasn't sooooo....

It's understandable..I'm not arguing with ya. If I didn't like the style I wouldn't find it worth it, either. As it is, I can't afford this one, so who am I kidding haha.

Honestly, that's a terrible image of Link, though.

Well I'll take pics when I get it eventually. I can also take pics of my other F4F collections. Maybe I'll post on the community blog or something.

And look at the crappily painted and sculpted comic book figures people lap up. I can say all the F4F I have don't paint over lines/bleed and no spots or specs.
Meh, my reply to the image is kinda buried but I commented that it's a terrible image of Link in the first place.
I've kind of had a love/hate relationship with the stuff that First 4 Figures has come out with (they're pretty good, but not good enough to match their prices [with a few exceptions.]) As far as their Zelda pieces have gone some of the Ocarina of Time figures just look bad (not sold on the Links, even the recent Dark Link), while the Twilight Princess figures are somewhat ok (Zant is great and Wolf Link is PERFECT, if only that disappointing Midna could measure up to the same standard.) As far as this piece goes I think it looks pretty good; Epona looks great and the detail and texture on her is amazing, but once again the person riding could be better. Link is not actually horrendous like Midna was, but for an extreme price like that, I don't think it's really worth it. He just looks somewhat out of place compared to the amazing detail of Epona (I feel like her stomach is a bit off though anatomy-wise.) I think the exclusive edition is pretty ridiculous though--F4F always added that "slightly different thing" to differentiate their limited editions, but the whole bronze thing I feel is sort of unnecessary. Maybe if it was just Epona, but on Link it just doesn't look right (especially on the eyes--it's a bit creepy.)
