Man, time flies. I remember when Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann was first airing back in 2007. I was fresh to the mecha world when I suddenly had this bombastic super robot show smack me in the face. It left an indelible impression on me and it remains my favorite anime series to this day.

Gurren Lagann being a GAINAX property, you know that there was no way that the any sort of "anniversary" go by without having something special in store or in stores. While there hasn't been much, we do know that Yamato is cooking up two versions of busty sniper Yoko Littner, one poseable and one static. It's been sculpted by Cerberus Project TM, is set to come out in 2012 and...that's it. We'll let you know when additional information is revealed.

I think somebody has to have a fetish for gingers in GAINAX. I mean, it's the only way I can explain the multitude of Yoko figures. Well, I can think of a couple more (sexy) reasons, but the point is that there are already way too many Yoko figures out in the market. I hope that whoever is involved will make more figures of the other characters in Gurren Lagann. Hey, how about highlighting the über-manly men in the show and making some sweet statues of them? Eh, it probably isn't going to happen, but a fan can wish. Which characters do you want made for the fifth anniversary?
