Fans Toys Quake Wave is a real shockerThe fan-favorite Transformers character Shockwave is an interesting case. Unlike other iconic characters that underwent some heavy character redesigns for their cartoon and comic book incarnations, Shockwave remained extremely true in design to his figure. Even in modern comics that try to update and modernize characters there's little change made to Shockwave. When you see that mono-eye and gun hand there's little doubt who you're looking at. That's probably why it's so easy to drool over Fans Toys upcoming homage to Shockwave, re-dubbed FT-03 Quake Wave. Everything about this figure looks so right! Done in the Masterpiece style this figure aims to be an animation-perfect representation of Shockwave, not only in the bot mode, but in his alternate gun mode as well. The transformation appears to be much like the original toy, but with much needed bulk added to the legs. I'm not entirely sure how they pulled that off (I've got some ideas), but they did an amazing job at it! All in all this might be the most amazing Shockwave that Hasbro and Takara will never make. The price is also in line with Masterpiece prices, being offered at around US$150, though I can't seem to track down any actual pre-orders despite being said to have a February release.
