DST's Battle Beasts taking the fight to NYCC
In addition to Diamond Select Toys' other NYCC events, the company will be hosting a Battle Beasts signing at their booth (#2156) featuring artist Ulises Farinas. Farinas, the artist behind the wraparound cover (and the SDCC exclusive cover) for Battle Beasts #1, will be signing free full-sized posters (of said cover) as well as any Battle Beasts comics you may own. The signing will take place on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Diamond Select Toys booth, #2156. Battle Beasts will also be among the Minimates discussed at Diamond Select Toys' Minimates panel at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday in room 10A6. Of course, the bigger draw may be the free Battle Beasts Minimates, colorways of Vorin (see header), which will specifically be given away to child attendees wearing a children's badges (so if you were planning on just borrowing a badge from a kid then you're probably out of luck... unless you have a really, really young face) following the panel. The figures themselves are leftover promo items from previous conventions and, quite honestly, look awesome together. If you missed the figures previously (like I did) or the SDCC preview release (like I did), then you can look forward to when the standard version of Vorin and the other Minimates begin to hit retail in December.
