Dr. Horrible is finally in figure form! photo

When I spied this piece over at Topless Robot, I knew I had to share it with you all. I was surprised to learn that there have been no figures from Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog yet, but all that is about to change with Quantum Mechanic's Dr. Horrible Animated Maquette. While I have no clue what an animated maquette is, I am pretty excited to see this splendid series in figure form. Sadly, Dr. Horrible's face does not look exactly like Neil Patrick Harris, but the resemblance is close enough to make most Whedonites happy. Rumor has it that a Mr. Hammer figure is next, which is beyond exciting because....well, who doesn't love Nathan Fillion?

Dr. Horrible is made of resin and hand painted, which is pretty impressive for a run of 1,000 pieces. He stands 9" high including his Freeze Ray, and would make an awesome addition to any nerd-tastic collection. He is up for pre-order at Entertainment Earth for only $70. Pretty cheap for the world's most ineffective supervillain!

Legacy Comments

Animated Maquettes are official animation models/statues used by artists and animators to reference colors, proportions, details, etc. So this is what the good, er, bad Doctor would look like in a cartoon. I'd love to see more of the cast now...
