Donald Duck Volkswagen is more than meets the eye photo

We've seen some pretty strange things when Japan takes American properties into its own hands. I think I hardly need to bring up the infamous Spider-Man mecha, for example. Now, the country continues its love affair with all things giant and robot thanks to the cooperation of Disney and Takara Tomy.

Donald here appears to be out for a pleasant ride, but with a few shifted pieces, this harmless Beetle quickly turns into a machine of mass destruction. Even though this is a new toy, coming out this December, it seems like they've purposefully given it an almost vintage look. Both Volkswagen and mech modes look like something I could have played with in the 80s. It's a cool little effect, I think, but maybe I'm just seeing things. Either way, it'll retail for the nice low price of around 3160 yen.

Holy crap o__o
shoulda been scrooge mcduck ;p
It's a shame that those cast a bit much for a basic sized transformer. It does look nice though.
I wanted this so badly when prototype photos were released. But now that it's colored, I will have to pass which makes me sad. ;_; Hopefully they'll release a monochrome version like Mickey. ... and hopefully they won't mess that up.
