Don't feel down, Ruiko. You finally have a figure thanks to Alter photo

To Aru Kagaku no Railgun has been primarily Mikoto when it comes to figure releases. That is now changing as the discouraged Level 0 friend of the cast, Saten Ruiko, has her own 1/8 scale figure.

Unfortunately, Ruiko is your typical school girl so there's not much to state about her outfit. It's something we've seen repeatedly which is a down side of school girl characters. Being a user of wind, sculptor Mumei tried to give some life to her with the flipping of her skirt and plenty of movement with the various strands of hair. Mumei has experience with motion with previous releases Kono Harumi of Two Heart2 Another Days and Subaru Nakajima from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS but this one feels forced just like the smile Ruiko is giving. The hair looks like several pieces of flat noodles and is very unnatural looking.

There isn't much that makes this figure stand out other than it being Ruiko's first standard scaled figure. She has a cute face minus that smile. If you are finding charm in this little lady, she is now available for preorder at AmiAmi and Hobby Search for a retail price of 6,800 yen. Current release date is set for December which appears to be another busy month for figure releases.

MOAR Toaru Kagaku no Railgun:

Legacy Comments

Although it's a somewhat generic-looking school girl as figures go, the head does look a bit different than you'd usually see. The hair has a really thin, greasy (?) look to it and she has a very nervous smile on her face. Also, something about the mouth itself looks a little off. The teeth look a little jutted out in the middle, plus there's all this space on the sides of the mouth... The upper body isn't bad besides that, but I dislike how they did the skirt. Not that it's a bad figure or anything.
