DO WANT: July 2011 Edition photo

Well folks, it's that time of the month again: DO WANT is here! The editors have assembled and made their picks known. This month is in the middle of summer and it's really hot outside. Like really, really hot. So why would you want to go out anyways?

In this month's installment:

  • - You'll see an entire line of figures
  • - Robots? Robots.
  • - Old-school characters get some love
  • - EVERYONE ELSE IS ON VACATION.

And more! Well, what are you waiting for? Let's check out what everyone loves this month!

Brian Szabelski wants the Play Arts Kai line releases for about the next year

Like you guys expected anything else? I was blown away by all the prototypes I saw. It's gonna be a good future for fans of gamer toys! And no, I can't pick just one!

Andres Cerrato wants Bandai's Super Robot Chogokin GaoGaiGar

With just a few weeks left, my DO WANT remains the Super Robot Chogokin release of GaoGaiGar. It's not all that much longer and I'll finally have the figure I've wanted for the past 6 years since I found out about the series. I would have picked SH Figuarts Vegeta, but the Bandai webshop exclusive kind of toned-down my enthusiasm for it, so I'm going to leave the true enthusiasm for Pranger to let out, as he could do it better than I ever could.

Tyler Jones wants Max Factory's Catherine

My pick for the month is Catherine.  I may not have been in love with the game but I'm crazy about the girl. Her drill-hair and lingerie outfit drive me almost as crazy as those block puzzles. Stupid Rapunzel.

Rio McCarthy wants Volks' Lina Inverse and Naga the White Serpent

It doesn't matter what it is, shove something Slayers related in my face and I'm a sucker for it. Shove something THIS cool in my face though and my money is yours for a lifetime! Even if I already have the first Lina Inverse, that doesn't matter! Needless to say, once I can figure out how to get my hands on these ladies they'll be mine for sure~

Chris Pranger wants Bandai's S.H. Figuarts Vegeta

Whatever Andres may say about the S.H. Figuarts Vegeta, just assume I said it and magnify it times four. Seriously, I eat Kamehamehas and crap Gallick Guns, so no one's going to be as excited as I am for a figure of a Dragon Ball Z character with full articulation and a dapper paint job. I'd perform a shatter scream right now if any of you could for sure hear it- which may actually be possible as I scream really freaking loud- but I'll just suffer quietly knowing that I'll never have the needed money to buy this. Such injustices in this world! Where were these figures when the show was uber popular during my childhood?!

Chris Seto wants ... I don't know, exactly.

I always hate this post at the end of this month because my DO WANT is pretty much filled with the stuff which I failed to get at the event or didn't get a chance to put on my original shopping list in the first place. There are the two Madoka Magica kits which I failed to get. The Mami, the Homura ... this Kyouko kit was also really nice. Then there were the Hanasaku Iroha kits, not to mention the bicycle girl kit! And there was Mizuki from Yamato and Kiking's Chainsaw Girl from Good Smile Company ...

How the heck am I supposed to choose just one from all that?? Damn you WF!!! I'm going to make it my mission to go to the event personally next year and go on a completely mental shopping spree!

And so ends another monthly installment of DO WANT from the Tomopop staff. But what about you, Tomopop readers? What do you want from the past month? Hit the comments below and make your voices heard!

@ Rio

I think Tokyo Hunter has some of the Lina kit in stock. Lime from Saber Marionette, too.
I also want that SS Vegeta =x Also the SH Figuarts Ryuhou.

And the Play Arts Kai Kratos (assuming it still looks cool painted).

But mostly that MU Jubilee and the MotUC Sorceress. Actually, after SDCC, I have maybe three dozen wants.
Plus I can't forget that Blazing Sword Voltron going on sale tomorrow.
Ga-ga-ga Ga-ga-ga Gaogaigaa! Ga-ga-ga Ga-ga-ga-ga Gaogaigaa!!

That said-- (said?) my DO WANTs are definitely Catherine and Altair's Luke.

And Rio's picks. Because Slayers. I would want them more if I could actually get them... Unfortunately price + the fact that they're kits and I have no faith in my ability to put them together means I'll have to go without.
