DesignerCon 2013: Hi Tree

8:00 PM on 11.14.2013 // Natalie Kipper

A smiling, whimsical wonderland

The DesignerCon booth belonging to Tina Rodas of Hi Tree reminded me of a pop-up book stuffed full of playful fairy tale friends. I had never seen as friendly-looking a spider as the toy one propped next to Tina's contact cards. That is a perfect snapshot right there: she made an arachnid look cuddly and welcoming. Laid upon the moss green tablecloth were the sweetest rag dolls I had ever seen. I had spotted several young (and some not-so young) girl attendees walking around with them during the two-day event. There was also a darling, lanky bat plush that I completely fell in love with (I really regret not taking it home). For those who wanted more function with their cuteness, Tina had pouches with lovely plush animal faces on them. Most were fanny packs but one was a clip-on. She also had a dish displaying tape measures disguised as little trees and rabbits. Knit caps with animals ears were laid out at a corner of the table. And to top it all off, smiling plush trees stood towards the back, also available for purchase.

To see more of the Hi Tree booth's absolutely wonderful goodies, head on over to the gallery!
