DesignerCon 2012: Dynamite Rex

Dinosaurs, plus designer toys, always equals win

Based on my initial reaction to seeing Dynamite Rex's first figure, Raar!, as well as some of your comments, we knew we had to stop by the booth and check out this little dino dude with the dynamite in mouth. It looks as if Raar! will come in two different sizes, one of which will be a 6-inch vinyl figure, and they've already lined up artists for the first series of Raar!s. Those include Hyperactive Monkey, Gary Ham, Scott Tolleson, Shea Brittain, Martin Hsu, and Squink! among the more familiar names; I'm already a fan of Scott's nerdy dinosaur.

The booth also had some blank Raar!s, a wool Raar! and some Raar!s that were part of a Raar! Metals line according to the infocard, though I'm not sure if they're actually cast in metal or just painted to look that way. Check out the gallery for all the new designs, and we'll let you know as soon as we've got any new info about Raar! to share.
