DesignerCon 2011: Toy Art Gallery
Toy Art Gallery, also known as TAG for short, made its mark at this month's DesignerCon with Mark Nagata's Neo Eyezon metal figures, which debuted at the event. The figure, depicting a scaly, many-eyed, monster, was available in gold, silver, brass, or copper. I personally liked the bronze one best. It looked like an ancient idol that was excavated a la Indiana Jones. There were two sizes of the figure at the booth. The larger (10 inches) Neo Eyezon, in bronze, is available at TAG's online store for US$1450. The other big (and I do mean "big") hit at TAG's booth was Okedoki's life-size Big Benny the Dreamer. Turns out this figure was actually a bigger version of a previously made figure, simply titled Benny the Dreamer. It was cool to see people take pictures alongside Big Benny. It was like being at an amusement park and getting to pose with all the fantastical characters you see. Plus, I dig that bunny hat! Did you know?
