DC's Ame-Comi Makes the Worst Batman Ever photo

I'm a fan of DC comics.  I'm a fan of anime.  You would think that DC Direct's Ame-Comi line would be right up my alley right?  Hell no, as unveiled up top is probably the worst Batman I have ever seen.  There are just spikes and belts everywhere.  I don't even think that Peter Chung would find this thing appealing.  I can't begin to say how this is possibly the worst Batman ever.  This is dangerously close to Batnipple bad.  What's scary is that this is just the Batman figure of this line.

There are more horrors to behold, as the gallery will show you a female Robin, a version 2 of Batgirl that looks like it's about to violate your anus, a new version of Catwoman that appears to be cosplaying EVA unit 01, Huntress who's dressed up as a mecha girl Psycho Gundam MkII, and a surprisingly decent Black Canary.  I will say this again.  DC's Ame-Comi is made of fail with maybe 2 exceptions.  Plus, Marvel Bishoujo just makes these look like even larger piles of fail.

MOAR tongue firmly in cheek:

Legacy Comments

When this line was chicks only, I was all for it. Then they started releasing them, and I was weary. I saw what they were going for, but it wasnt for me.

I saw this batman yesterday, and I let out an audible 'fuck you' at my computer screen. My computer screen didnt do anything wrong, so now I feel kinda bad about it. A victim of collateral damage though.

Even though the chicks in the first part of the line werent entirely 'for me', I was almost going to crack and just get one or two, simply because I liked the idea. But now? This line is completely off my radar. If they sell, that means we get more. It needs to go die a quiet death.

Long Live the new Koto Marvel chicks line.
I don't think the Batman is that bad. He really only has two more spikes than he usually does, and he actually is occasionally drawn as having those shoulder spikes. I actually thought Black Canary was the worst looking one in the bunch. Her face looks kinda wonky.

That being said, I still don't like this line very much. Their designs always look like deviantart fan art. They don't really seem like anime versions of the characters. They just look like they had random extra details thrown at them.
I have feelings similarly to u_nick. I think this was an idea with a lot of promise, but honestly, I've yet to see one figure in this line that I wanted to own. I've seen much more interesting redesigns of all of these characters in various "Elseworlds" tales.

As for that Batman, he looks like he was redesigned by Todd McFarlane or Rob Liefield.

"Yeah add lots of spikes and belts and pouches and straps! Now that looks EXTREME!!!!!"
I don't like that Batman, but I don't think it's that bad. Not "worst" bad anyway. But yeah, this line is not impressive in the least. Marvel's line is much better.
Uh....Well if it's not the worst, it must be a hell of a close second. And what's with that god-awful pose?
This is what we get when grasping an interpretation isn't that firm enough. Batman here looks like some weird mutant version of Ultimate Kuuga, for example.
robin=epic fail, well, just fail if it still has a penis. I still like the crazy demon batgirl thing as a concept piece.
Why are her thighs sewn together?
@kikimaru - so she cannot breed
I'm sorry for disagreeing with everyone here but I love this version of Batman. Sure it's not the batman that I know but I love the design (very steampunkish) and this is actually my very first "major" toy purchase (around $60+) and for me it's worth it.
