Daiki Kougyou finally reveals their K-On! Mio in color and she is expensive~! photo

In February, perverted figure maker Daiki Kougyou felt the need to cash in try something different and revealed a prototype figure of the queen of anime, Akiyama Mio of K-On! Little was known at the time but the company has finally released details about the figure now that Wonder Festival 2010 Summer is coming up.

The 1/6 scale figure is really nice looking. Not great, but the pose, the plucking of the strings, and the amp give it a little more character compared to other releases. The only two things that bother me are her eyes and the positioning of her legs. It looks like she was interrupted during setup or practicing and the legs just don't match the rest of the body for it.

Now those anticipating this release, prepared to be disappointed. Daiki Kougyou's Mio is going to be released as a assembled, uncolored resin kit. So if that is not your cup of tea, I'm sorry. Don't worry! It gets better! Mio will also be limited to 40 pieces and sell for 15,000 yen exclusively at Wonder Festival on July 25th, 2010. ... Oh, wait. That's even worse! Sorry. ... Well, maybe the company will release her down the road as a PVC figure. Cross them fingers, folks!

MOAR K-On:

Legacy Comments

No more K-ON! *cries* I just do not get why people like these characters so much. Is there anyone here who can tell me?
I'm with Kit. I'm over K-ON! Not to mention this is wayyyy overpriced.
@gamergirlkit I love K-ON! I'm a huge fan of the show- something about moeblobs just gets me, and really, a big part of it, for yours truly, it's about the music and the personalities. I think you have to watch the anime and get to know and love the characters, in order to understand why people would want so much merch of them.

But that's pretty much anything. I'd ask people why they need so many figures of Rei Ayanami (or, cough, Kanu Unchou), or why she's so popular, but that's because I'm just not her biggest fan. I like to have lots of figures of characters I like. I'm sure I'm not alone.

As for this Mio... Even if they did do a wide release of her, I'd still pass. Her legs look like they belong to someone else, and something about her face is just... off.
Isn't there like, 5 other Mio figures that look exactly like this?
