Custom Delights: Jay222's 36

This might be the biggest Custom Delights post we've ever done on Tomopop ... literally. Bay Area artist Jay222 has gone to work on a 36" Qee, using his signature horror style to transform the Qee into something out of your worst nightmare. It creeps me out just looking at it, but it's also intriguing to me for perhaps the same reason. The piece was done for the Beyond Recognition show at Space Gallery in San Francisco on July 31, and Jay's piece certainly fits the theme, because it's hard to tell under all his work that it started out as a Qee.

The best part of all of this, though? Jay and his friends, including two-time World Champion of "Best Natural Beard" Jack Passion, have put together a cool video that shows the entire transformation from start to finish. It's even got a bit of a story to it. But really, you'll want to watch it to see how Jay turns this huge vinyl Qee into one beast of a piece. Perhaps quite literally, too. Check it out after the jump!

MOAR ooh, creepy:

Legacy Comments

Wow, it looks really gross when it's done haha. Also, Cancer Bats.
The (only) store here in Phoenix that sells all things toy culture, Red Hot Robot, has one of those babies. I'd love to get my hands on a mega Munny but without a show or commission it's just not worth it. That turned out great though!
