You know, I was never really intimidated by traditional artists' renditions of Cthulu. A giant green squid monster? This is the thing that's supposed to be the stuff of my nightmares? Please. I beat down Malboros all the time in Final Fantasy so that stuff doesn't faze me anymore.

However, seeing the green tentacly bits on a roughly human shape makes it about a thousand times worse. This is where Cthulu Barbie comes in. You see, toy customizer and nightmare enthusiast Sabrina Zbasnik must have looked at a normal Barbie and thought, "this won't traumatize infants enough." Then there was a Photoshop concept, and then it all became a terrifying, horrible reality.

Truthfully, this is the Cthulu that haunts my dreams. If he's all squid, I just think "dinner." Introduce a little mutated, horrific humanity, and the equation changes. If for some reason you want to know more, read about the creative process at the source link.
