When Bandai revealed that they would be release D-Arts figures of the cast from Persona 4, my heart sank since Bandai never produces a large enough quantity of their figures. So when Max Factory revealed that they would also be producing figures from Persona 4 as a part of their poseable figma figure series, I was filled with much glee. This is because now I have a chance of owning a figure of the energetic tomboy, Chie.
With the Max Factory figma Blog giving the official preview of the figure, I'm even more excited since that'll mean pre-orders are right around the corner. Oh Chie. You and that smile with your rounded, bob hairstyle. It gets me every time. The green jacket is looking nice with the detail included for the zipper along with the attached buttons. Chie will include an opened mouth action face as well as her glasses. She'll also include the goofy, mustache glasses for those who want a good laugh. An action part will also be included to give a swiping action to her kick. Lastly, there's the last alternate face that can change ths figma into Shadow Chie. Those eyes and that smile give me the creeps. I'm not fond of the painted stitch marks on the shows. It just looks like someone was bored and painted a bunch of x's on their shoes.
Max Factory's figma Chie is scheduled for a June 2012 release with a retail price of ¥3,000. No word on when pre-orders start but expect it to be very soon. As much as I would prefer the D-Arts version, at least another option is now available. What about you folks? Are you fine with the figma version or will you be fighting the crowd for your chance at the D-Arts version?
