Horo shot by DogStar

For this week, the topic is an Open Challenge.

It's right around the middle of harvest season for Spring wheat. Summer seems to have gone in a flash and suddenly September is already around the corner.

Enjoy the last bits of Summer and the beginning of Fall. Change is abound.

Feel free to shoot what you like this week and if you have a topic in mind, let us know!

Have fun!

#figurefridaychallenge - Color: Purple

Unity May shot by Shimapan

For this week, the topic is Scale / Perspective.

Sometimes a single color can convey so much emotion and style. But it's also hard to not feel like you're overusing just one color in a photo to create that certain feeling. Balancing that can be hard.

Especially with a color like purple, which can be a very strong color to conquer. Are you up to it?

Have fun!

#figurefridaychallenge - Scale / Perspective

The Lukes shot by Michael Huttner

For this week, the topic is Scale / Perspective.

Scale and Perspective can really mess with the reality of figures. Whether it's by tilt shifting or using forced perspective, they can really look a lot larger than they seem. Or, sometimes, all it takes is some simple juxtaposition to show some style.

Challenge suggested by Michael Huttner via this Open Challenge posting: https://goo.gl/rwuhDT

#figurefridaychallenge - Eight

Susumiya Haruhi shot by klon

For this week, the topic is Eight.

For some of you, these number challenges are just about as exasperating as watching Haruhi's Endless Eight cycle, but here we are, nevertheless, at number Eight.

Try not to think too literally about the number, but instead, let us know of a reason why the submission ties in with the number Eight for you. A story can always be much more interesting than something literal, although a literal eight can be good too.

All I can promise is that it wont be endless.

Have fun!

#figurefridaychallenge - Open Challenge [+ July Event]

Kotobuki Tsumugi shot by koko

For this week, the topic is an Open Challenge.

And July is already done. Hopefully everyone had a good look at some of the fun figures coming out of WonFes :).

Don't forget to spend some time outdoors as well while the weather permits... or doesn't, depending on where you are.

As always, feel free to showcase some photos of figures, with or without chickens, and let us know if you have a topic in mind so that we can use it for any upcoming challenges. :)

Have fun!

#figurefridaychallenge - Season: Summer

Kongou shot by Yukataonly

For this week, the topic is Season: Summer.

I always think of summer as something in the mountains or the beaches. This time the beach won out.

Feel free to show us your interpretation of Summer.

Have fun!

#figurefridaychallenge - Skintight

For this week, the topic is Skintight.

Flight suits, swimwear, even lingerie probably predominate when it comes to skintight clothing. But I'm sure for those that are creative, it can take on some other meanings too.

#figurefridaychallenge - Wafuku

For this week, the topic is Wafuku.

There's a certain aesthetic beauty to wafuku, or traditional Japanese clothing. The intricate yet simple elegance uses lots of textures, textiles, and draping to convey both complexity and simplicity.

Figures are no exception to being well adorned with detailed wafuku, whether it be something traditional or even a modern take.

Perhaps the concept of a photo can extend beyond that to using actual wafuku textiles as part of the photo shoot as well :).

#figurefridaychallenge - Seven

For this week, the topic is Seven.

Because the seven deadly sins would have been a little too obvious.

Seven can be a count, it can signify some type of luck, or it may simply be something that is relevant to the figure, like with Eureka below from Eureka 7.

Time to stretch that imagination and find a relevant story to tell about "Seven" :).

#figurefridaychallenge - Open Challenge [+ June Event]

For this week, the topic is an Open Challenge.

The longest day... or the shortest day of the year just passed us by. Which implies the middle of the warm season (cold season people feel free to make up something else in your mind). A nice color block below to just convey that overbearing feeling of being fully saturated in heat. Or perhaps it's just a nice shade of yellow. It'll depend on the weather outside.

Feel free to shoot what you like for this week's Open Challenge and if you have a topic, be sure to mention it so that we can consider it for a future challenge :).

Have fun!

#figurefridaychallenge - Sand

For this week, the topic is Sand.

Sand, beaches, water, summer, and figures. They seem to go well together considering the over abundance of swimsuit adorning figures that get produced each year. Time to make use of it, or come up with something equally compelling and interesting. Interpret away.

Have fun!

#figurefridaychallenge - Look Back

For this week, the topic is the Look Back.

There's something alluring about a nice look back. Whether it's just something casual over the shoulder, or a genuine shaft style head tilt, or even one that gazes at you via a reflection. There's that ever so slight indirect connection that gets made that can turn something mundane and normal into something rather special.
