So with the latest preorder of Figma Link going up on AmiAmi, and Figma Samus due to be released this month, I thought I'd talk a little bit about why I think having high-quality Nintendo toys is one of the greatest things to come to toy collecting, as well as giving my top 5 most wanted Nintendo Figmas.

I was someone who grew up in the 90's; of course this means I owned a Nintendo 64, Gameboy Color and every Nintendo system after that. Many of these characters that I grew up with, specifically Mario and Link, were a HUGE part of my childhood and set the standard for what I came to expect from playing video games. As a child, and obviously now, I was always looking to collect video game merchandise outside of the actual games. I can remember Pokemon trading cards with friends, as well as any type of T-shirt with a magic mushroom on it I could find. Unfortunately, Nintendo action figures of any type weren't really around then other than some occasional niche toys that a 10 year old definitely wouldn't know about (and I sure as hell wasn't putting down my Gameboy to look for them).

But now, thanks to Max Factory's Figma line, we're getting two AWESOME Nintendo toys; the Metroid: Other M Samus Aran, and the Skyward Sword Link! I've been longing for figures like this FOREVER and it thrills me to see some great characters getting the plastic treatment that they deserve.

Now I think it's a little bit early to be saying that we'll be getting 5 Nintendo Figmas a year, but I do hope that we can keep seeing these made. I've went through and listed my top 5 most wanted Nintendo Figmas, and I'd love to hear what everyone else has to say. Of course Nintendo is a huge franchise and anything's possible!

5. Ganondorf

Ganondorf is a character that I'm not a huge fan of per se in the Zelda series, but a Figma would no doubt be an awesome feat, especially if it's of the Twilight Princess incarnation.

4. Starfox

Now this is one that I'd love to see done for obvious reasons, and if Falco weren't such a long shot, I'd have him listed here as well. I'd love to see a super posable Fox McCloud.

3. Captain Falcon

Of course he really just races in the F-Zero series, but Captain Falcon really was pretty badass in the Smash Bros. series. I'd love to see a Cpt. Falcon Figma.

2. Mario and Luigi 2-pack

I'm sure that Mario and Luigi probably won't get a Figma release, but one can hope. Not the most exuberant Nintendo characters, but definitely iconic.

1. Adult OoT Link

Finally. Now even though the Skyward Sword Link is awesome, don't get me wrong, but I'd absolutely love to see a Link from Ocarina of Time. Not sure if a tunic swapping mechanism would be possible, but one can hope...
