DST does inevitable Marvel Select Ultron, looks like crap
About me

What is a Scarecroodle?
~It's a catchier and more memorable name than Scarecrow, which is generally taken anyway. Scarecrow, being a fear-related villain with a catchy costume, is probably one of my all-time favorite villains (just not the movie version).

Beyond that, I'm just an average white guy in the age 24~36 bracket.

What does a Scarecroodle like?
~I love fighting games, platformers, horror, and anime. I also collect a lot of Marvel/DC stuff, but most of that interest stems from the old cartoons/movies and the comic interest only came because I thought some of the figures looked insane. Figure-wise, I think the 6\" scale is probably the ideal size for figures. At that size they can make nice display pieces, sick detail, and joints that don't break (like in the crappy smaller scales).

I'm also a massive fan of the really small scales because it usually allows for a lot of incredible-looking scenery (check out stuff like Warhammer, etc). I would love to really get into sculpting, but I'm kinda clumsy which doesn't work well when things need to be exact.

I'd really like to get into statues (because the detailing and paint is usually good), but the pricing is more than a little daunting and you don't get as much variety out of them whereas figures can be posed into elaborate set-ups or whatever.

The select few Tomopoppers who marvel at Diamond Select Toys's oversized answer to the Marvel Legends line will no doubt be unsurprised by the release of Ultron. The character has previously (quite literally) partially appeared with recent entries to the line, cameoing in the destroyed bits that make up their bases (Hawkeye, Black Widow). But now Diamond Select is doing an Ultron that isn't smashed to bits or otherwise destroyed and, frankly, I almost wish it were:

Frankly, the quality looks more on par with Hasbro's 3.75" Marvel Universe release of the character than Toy Biz's decent (but non-conventional) Ultron.

My biggest gripes might be the terrible-looking ball-jointed hips although the cheap-looking torso joint and overall weak sculpt certainly rank up there. The figure is largely devoid of the usual level of sculpting and paint that go into Marvel Select figures in continuation of a recent trend towards disappointing releases (see: ALL the Disney exclusives). In fact, in terms of quality, I think the sculpt on the 3.75" Hasbro one might actually be stronger (which is saying a lot, considering he was designed to share parts with their Doctor Doom!).

At the end of the day, however, it's (rather sadly) the best 6"~ traditional Ultron available (as the ML version was a drastically altered take) and will likely fill a hole in many fans' collections... although certainly not in mine.

It's currently up for preorder on BBTS for $19.99, whom I plug solely because I stole the image from there (being too lazy to check DST's facebook for one):
