About
Howdy folks. I collect a very erratic array of figures, to the point where I don't even really know all the shit I have off the top of my head. Doesn't stop me from taking pictures of them though. Most of my pics go up on my Tumblr, or my DeviantArt, along with all sorts of other random stuff.

Also, you should totally check out Puppet Nightmares because it is an awesome game.

Now we're TOTALLY f*cked. The managers are getting pissed off that the union is being a bunch of greedy shits, so they've instigated a full mail lockout.

Lockout at Canada Post – What It Means To Customers

2011/06/15
Mail Deposit and Delivery

* All mail processing plants and letter carrier depots are closed and all facilities have been secured. No new mail will be accepted. Large volume mailers cannot deposit or receive mail.
* Mail Delivery is suspended to all addresses served by letter carriers represented by the CUPW (Urban). Some mail delivery will continue over the first few days of the lockout to clear mail remaining in the system in suburban and rural areas where delivery employees are represented by a different bargaining unit.
* Street Letter Boxes, mail slots on Community Mail Boxes, and other Canada Post mail-receiving equipment have been cleared and sealed to prevent mail from being deposited.
* Through a previous agreement, Canada Post and CUPW will ensure that a number of socio-economic cheques will be delivered on June 20. Please visit canadapost.ca/cheques for more information.

Post Offices

* All post offices staffed by CUPW members are closed.
* Post Offices located in suburban and rural areas staffed by members of the Canadian Postmasters and Assistants (CPAA) continue to be open but cannot accept new mail.
* Authorized Dealer Post Offices are also open but cannot accept new mail. Some Dealer Post Offices may be operating at reduced hours.
* Post Offices that remain open offer limited products such as MoneyGram and Money Orders but no new mail will be accepted. Many open Post Offices will also have parcels and other mail items delivered prior to the lockout available for customers to pick up.

So don't be expecting any packages any time soon. If you want to do something, go harass your local Canada Post Union Representative.

WHY DOES OUR MAIL SERVICE SUUUUUCCCKKKKKKKKK

AMIAMI UPDATE: I just received an email from Amiami regarding the strike. These guys are total bros. Basically, because of the strike, they're going to "freeze" any Canadian orders; basically, any orders for anything that comes out this month they're just going to hold it at their warehouse until either the strike ends, on July comes, at which point they intend to reevaluate the situation. So at least we don't have to worry about our Amiami orders vanishing into the mail-strom. :P

I heard about this through a jeweler friend of mine who was trying to ship some merchandise out there. That is certainly annoying to deal with. =/
It's more than just annoying; I have two things in the mail at the moment. DX
oh no...

:( That's terrible
That's terrible. I understand because here in Peru we have the same situation since Monday, what's up with postal services? D:. I hope it gets solved quickly in both cases.
It IS terrible; one of the things is just a megami magazine, so not too much to worry about, but the other thing is this: http://annyasworkshop.blogspot.com/2011/05/ymir-is-finished.html D:
Oh noes! D:

I hope you get your stuff soon
Blarg, that is sooooo shitty TnT
I have 5 packages coming in ugh this is extremely frustrating thanks for the warning lol
Ymir showed up!

Now the only thing in the mail is that megami magazine, which just shipped today via SAL, so maybe I'll get lucky and the strike will be over by the time it gets here. :P
Right now, they're just 24 hour rotating strikes, so the damage should be minimal. This means, for example. Winnipeg is being struck for the next 24 hours, the rest of the country is (bad) business as normal.
I agree. The canadian post office went on strike because the newer employees weren't getting as great as benefits and pays as seasoned employees, I think. But that's like any place, get the fuck over yourselves.

I also HATE UPS, FedEx and DHL. Wtf. Why do I want to pay an extra $20+ for you to deliver my package. Fuck that noise it's a "customs" fee. Then why doesn't Canada Post ever charge that fee? And what the fuck was it doing in the states before it came to Canada according to my tracking numbers? IT SHOULD GO THROUGH B.C FIRST.

/rant.
I also hate UPS and FedEx with a passion. Don't think I've ever used DHL. They can take their customs fee and shove it.
Canada Post is a joke. I had this package from Sweden than took 2 and a half years to arrive at my door.
Damn, I had figured that this whole thing would have cleared up buy now. Man, not a lot to do now but wait it out I guess. Sorry everyone in Canada has to deal with this.
The US is going to have something similar. There's a meeting to talk about the USPS and how it can improve. I think ultimately it will be mail deliveries only 3 times a week or something... which could make sense now that most people have access to computers.
Nooooo.....I don't have any figures in the mail atm, but I do have a package from Amazon stuck in the mail system because of this. I was really excited knowing I would get to read the Ace Attorney manga in ENGLISH. Now I'll have to wait sigh. Let's hope it all gets sorted out soon.
@Orannis: This is a TOTALLY random question, but does your name come from the Sabriel/Lirael books? It always sounded familiar and I just realized that it's one of the characters from there!
@Leah; yeah, it totally does. XD It's one of my favorite series. :D
Thanks for the updates! Canada post once again proving how useless they truly are.
Mine too! I was actually re-reading them the other day and when I got to his name... I pictured him as a little Cthulhu with a sombrero. XD
Ahh harsh.... This will no doubt mess up my order on Hobby Search for my Kenshins.... I hope they do something similar to what Amiami is doing.
