About
Living in "The Room of a Thousand Eyes," Natalie Kipper is a plush enthusiast who steadfastly refuses to grow up. As a Tomopop Associate Editor, she focuses on plushes of all kinds as well as Disney merchandise. The odd anime or video game vinyl toy sneaks in there on occasion, too. In short, if it's cute and/or cuddly, Natalie is interested!

June 9th was the start of the Annual Passholder preview for Carsland and Buena Vista Street (Disney California Adventure's answer to Disneyland's Main Street). I had tickets for the first time slot of 8 a.m. to noon. I gotta say, Carsland was impressive and all but, for a Los Angeles native whose family has resided here since before it was dubbed "Los Angeles," it was really really cool to see a circa 1920s LA replica. I think I wound up spending more time at Buena Vista Street than at Carsland because it was just so pleasant. I didn't come home empty-handed either.

So, without further ado, some of the new merchandise I picked up (and yes, they are mostly plushes):

First, allow me to introduce you to my new favorite piece of Disneyland memorabilia (not counting Dufffy).

Isn't Oswald absolutely adorable? He is made of a knitted material and 15 inches tall. I love him so very very much.

The next plush I purchased was the Red Car Trolley Mickey.

He is 12 inches tall and looks very dapper in his suit and conductor's cap. There is a lot of detail in this guy like a name tag that reads" Mickey" and underneath "Buena Vista St." The Conductor's cap also has the Red Car Trolley logo on it and says "conductor." But, by far, my favorite detail is ...

The pocket watch Mickey is carrying in his hand. It is attached by a cord to his side.

My final purchase was neither a plush nor intended for myself. It was a scarf that I am going to give as a gift to a very good friend who could not attend the preview because of work. It is part of the new Route 66 line of merchandise at California Adventure. Within the blue background, you can see DCA landmarks like Grizzly Peak and Mickey's Fun Wheel.

That is all of my loot but I also took scenic pictures of Buena Vista Street and Carsland. Let me know if you guys want to see them.
