The Dark Knight Rises left me with somewhat mixed impressions. However, DC Collectibles' 16-inch Batman Vs. Bane Icon 1/6 Scale Statue is unmistakably awesome.

The statue depicts Bane lifting Batman above his head with one knee seemingly at the ready. Somehow I don't think it's the nicest method of forcing an early retirement on somebody. Batman seems almost inconsequential in this sculpture, a plaything to be thrown around just to show how awesome Bane is and that Bane does indeed look awesome. There's a great amount of detail in Bane's outfit between the ripples in the material and the shadowing. Likewise, his arms are exceptionally detailed.

Again, you can't really see much of the Batman from the photo but I imagine you'd get a better look at him from above. He seems to have some sort of a fabric cape, though. While his pose looks really weird I imagine anybody would strange being lifted over somebody's head like that.

The Batman vs Bane statue is available for pre-order now with a list price of US$325 (although expect to find it US$50 cheaper in many places) and is scheduled for a November release. Do you plan on seeing if this statue will break your shelves?
