I know it might seem a bit selfish to want to display these on the front page, but I felt that having spent a good $140, and having a wonderful photographer on hand, that it might be worth sharing with everyone. Taking a cue for Danny Choo, we snapped some high quality photos of these lovely Shunya Yamashita designs in hopes of being able to recreate some of the awesome shoots Danny's managed in the past. It's no secret that I'm a huge Shunyama fan-- even going as far as to declare my undying love for him over on Japanator the other month. So please, just indulge me a bit.
What can I say? Something about his art just strikes me as beautiful. Perhaps it's the fact that he's inspired by 1950's pin-ups, and that he actually draws his women in a slightly more realistic fashion, as opposed to the stick figures you might find in a work by CLAMP. Of course these figures are both being added to my ever growing collection of his works. If you're as interested as I am, you might want to pick up his art books Wild Flower and Sweet Dreams. The figures themselves are all over the net, so shop around for the best price if you don't want to waste money at conventions like me.
