Aoshima's Captain Tsubasa figures bring the fierceness

Okay, so the folks at Aoshima didn't catch my eye with their K-ON! mobip figures, but they've far from failed at grabbing my attention. Anime fans should recognize the face above as belonging to one Ozora Tsubasa, the main character of the long-running Japanese series Captain Tsubasa. Being about soccer, I can't help but be a fan of Captain Tsubasa, and as a fan, I can tell you Aoshima's Tsubasa sculpt is about as close to perfect as it gets. The version you see above is the "fierce fighting" version of the figure: there's also a normal version of Tsubasa in the exact same pose, but it's not nearly as cool, because the "fierce fighting" version's touches make it look like Tsubasa's been to hell and back on the field.

If you'd like to get your hands on one of these figures, too, they're due out next month at 4,800 yen (about US$50). Due to the release date closing in, sites are starting to close their pre-orders, but both Hobby Link Japan and Toys Logic still have pre-orders open. I don't imagine they'll be up for much longer, though, so if you're going to act, do so quickly!
