Amie-Grand is all about the polystone statues. It's their thing. Well, that and Ikkitousen. But from time to time they'll produce something from a different title. ...though that title is normally Evangelion. And that's what they have coming out later next year.

The company is re-releasing their 1/6 scale polystone status of Asuka in her patented yellow dress. I like the idea of the statue with Asuka leaning forward, her hands together and fingers crossing while sitting in a chair. Of course this pose also has the petite gal squeezing her breasts that is easily seen with her loose dress. Though one would be distracted by that, I'm liking what is above and that's the detail around her neck and collarbone. However, what I do not like is her face. For a 1/6 scale statue, Asuka is lacking in detail in that face of hers. If looks rough around the edges and points of the mold, feeling once again more like prize figure quality. This becomes more evident with her hair.

At a retail price of 15,200 yen, I'm not sure what people saw in this figure. Well, maybe I do... and it was enough to warrant a re-release of this statue. Look for Amie-Grand's 1/6 scale Dress Asuka polystone statue to come out in April, 2012.
