ALTER's Nodoka from K-On! awaits your pre-order papers

9:00 AM on 05.23.2012 // Jonathan Tubbs

One thing I would always complained about with the mass marketing of K-On! figures was the lack of a scaled figure of the responsible and kind Nodoka Manabe. My wish came true when ALTER revealed a unpainted sample at Wonder Festival 2012 Winter but I wasn't too thrilled with the pose and the lack of a hat. Finally, a character I really wanted from this title but I was sorely disappointed.

All my issues with the figure have been addressed now that pre-orders have opened for this 1/8-scale figure. The default for this figure seems to be the little lady turning back toward you with her hip on her hand and giving a happy, open smile while wearing her trademark glasses. However, she'll also include alternate parts that have her head facing forward and an arm to adjust her glasses. Along with those alternate parts, she'll also come with her arm band and her amazing hat.

Honestly, it's not the greatest looking of figures based on the product photos and it's just another school girl in the end. However, those glasses, that hat, the short, messy hair, and the character's personality are all things that I can't say "no" to, especially since I've been desiring a standard scaled figure of her for a while. ALTER's 1/8-scale Nodoka Manabe is retailing for ¥6,800 and will be available in October, 2012. Am I the only Nodoka fan out there or are there other folks wanting her, too? ...or are you hoping that ALTER will finally release Sawako? How knows. Maybe we'll find out at MegaHobby Expo this weekend.
