Action ponies from Taobao; prototypes or knockoffs?

2:00 PM on 07.25.2012

Well, it's nothing new to find knockoff toys around, especially not on the Internet. Though sometimes it's actually hard to tell whether you're looking at a knockoff, or if perhaps it's a prototype for an actual line of toys. The case in point being these newly found My Little Pony toys that xengk from Youtube found and posted a video of (which you can see below the jump).

They look pretty good, though you won't be seeing me jump on Taobao just to buy them either way. Each of the ponies has a button you press to make them do individual movements. If they're legitimate I'll pick them up once they're in stores, otherwise at least we have these videos to see what they are in the first place. Curious!

A trip to bootleg hell, or why you should be careful at cons
