A Slayers Fan's Plea: Lina Inverse plush, where are you?! photo

Anyone who's been in a conversation with me long enough to talk anime knows that I can go on the most massive tangents about Slayers and how it's my favorite anime series of all time. There is not a single series I own on VHS or DVD more times than it, nor have I watched a series that many times. Sadly, it's one that lacks the most with merchandise.

Within the past year or so a few new items have emerged, including the Lina Inverse tote bag I so happily carry around, but really besides that and a couple keychains we Slayers fans have been screwed. That is, until I found something last night that truly got my hopes up!

Over at AAA Anime they have a listing for a Lina Inverse plush that's suppose to release at the end of June. "Huzzah!" I screamed, when I saw it - that is, until I realized I couldn't find it for preorder... anywhere. Not a single mention of it other than on AAA Anime's website! So, for the first time in my illustrious toy blogging career I beg that if you happen to stumble upon a place that has this for preorder please send the link my way, as it would truly make my year!

It's been so long since we've gotten another cute Lina plush. I can't possibly be the only one out there who'd buy it? Right...?

That Slayers plush is in planning by Great Eastern. It's not listed anywhere except AAA because it hasn't been finalized yet, and AAA's the only site I know of that will list un-final GE products. Everyone else waits until they're announced as available. Once that happens, you can expect to find her for sale with all the usual American suspects. (Personally, I suggest Right Stuf or Amazon.)

How long that will take is anyone's guess - GE's had the prototype up for a while, but maybe getting licensor approvals is taking some time, or there was a problem with manufacturing? Ah, and last but not least, there's no MSRP for her yet, but based on the style you can probably expect to see her retailing for $14.99 unless she's a lot bigger than GE usually does (8" tall is their standard). And if Lina sells well, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Gourry join her. ^-^ GE usually does things in sets, though not always.
Woohoo! :D Thanks for the info! I had contacted Right Stuf to see if they had heard anything about it, but they hadn't yet. I'll keep waiting though! I'd just die if I got a Gourry as well, but I think the absolute brain explosion point would be if I got a Xellos and Zelgadis plush added to the mix. :3

Good things come to those who wait they say~!
I have some Slayers figures (high quality) that were released back in around 1996. They look fabulous, but I'd like a Ameria/Phil, Xellos, or Rezo figure.

I'd love to have a high quality plush since my current plush is either shoddy or a bootleg.
I hear ya about Slayers. It was the anime that pushed me over the top into a full otaku, and I have also struggled over the years finding any good merchandise.

Just because Lina isn't over sexualized at all in Slayers they never make any figures of her.
I'm surprised that even with the new seasons there isn't as much merchandise for it than all of the other contemporary shows that surround it.
I want either Revoltech or Figma Slayers figures. Figma is probably better.

And I don't just mean Lina, but I really really want one of my fav characters of all time, Xellos.

I'm tempted to try and made a custom of him, but don't have the resources or determination...
That's both cute and amazing.

Back in the 90s, I used to wake up at 3 a.m. on wednesdays (two hours before the time I would normally wake up for school) to watch Slayers on a weird peruvian network that aired the spanish dub at those ungodly hours...

We actually had a good amount of anime being aired here in Colombia back then (Captain Tsubasa, Candy Candy, Saint Seiya, Mazinger, Speed Racer, Konchuu Monogatari, Gekko Kamen, among many others) but nothing close to the quality of Slayers.

That was before internet fansubs and digital distribution... we really had to work hard to get our anime fix.
Omg!!
@Shadow Mask Prime: Seconding the Revoltech/Figma comment so hard. I desperately want good quality Slayers toys. I don't usually buy plushies, but I'd get this in a heartbeat.
...wow....That is the most adorable thing I've ever seen! I must have one...Me and my friend got the slayers episodes1-6 as a freebie at this convention thing and from that we went as far as to watch about 40 episodes in one crazy slayers session, zelgadis overload? No it's not possible
I'd love to have these, especially a Zelgadis.

RightStuf is selling an awesome discount pack on seasons 1-5 of the Anime series though. I was very serprised to see a 5th season I'd never heard about till then :D
