A closer look at the "World is Mine Miku" garage kit!

Mar 19 // Chris Seto

First of all, I have a confession to make. I don't particularly like Hatsune Miku nor do I understand where her ridiculous level of popularity comes from. Having said that, it makes this "World is Mine Miku" garage kit all the more special because it made me sit up and notice!

Eagle eyed readers may have spotted this figure in this weeks "What Toys Are Up To" feature but we figured that she deserves a closer look. Sculpted by a Chinese modeller by the name of Kiking, this particular Miku garage kit is currently riding high on the FG board rankings and deservedly so. Fans of the original "World is Mine Miku" PVC figure will no doubt be wishing for a mass produced release of this kit in the near future.

Kiking seems to be relatively new to the scene as neither his blog nor FG profile has a particularly extensive history of previous works. He seems to have worked on an Izayoi Sakuya kit previously as well as some interesting Gunpla mods but that's about it. But if this is his level of skill now, then I'm sure we can expect some great things from this young modeller in the future. Incidentally, his blog states that his next project will be Dead Master!

No word on the availability of this kit or even if it will be sold at any model events. I suspect that Chinese model kit events are run somewhat different from their Japanese counterparts but we may see her grace an event like Treasure Festa in the future.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to write an email to Kiking to enquire about her availability!
