Tomocast 36: Toy Story 2 Commentary photo
Tomocast 36: Toy Story 2 Commentary
by Pedro Cortes

After a bit of extra time, I'm glad to bring you Tomopop's Toy Story 2 commentary! I was joined by Kristina Pino, Rio McCarthy and Jonathan Tubbs as we sat down and watched Pixar's first sequel, which proved to be quite an amusing hour and a half. Believe me, any time you watch a toy pig and Mr. Potato Head cruising down a toy aisle whilst checking out Barbies, you're going to have more than a couple of laughs. Add Woody's perpetual creepy facial expressions...well, you an imagine the fun we had with that.

So here's that thing where we record our voices and splice it together with energetic music. It's called the Tomocast and this is its 35th episode. After being absent for so long, we figured it made sense to find out what you, the Tomopop reader/Tomocast listener, was up to. Therefore, it only made sense to turn it into a listener questions episode. Besides that, Kristina Pino, Jonathan Tubbs and Rio McCarthy talked about what they've been up to as well as what they have on tap for the future. Twas a good time for all involved!

Tomocast 35 records tonight, give us questions!

It's been so long since we've recorded a Tomocast that we've decided to open the show up to you guys. Send us your questions that will be answered by Rio, Jonathan, Kristina and myself and we'll answer them. The more interesting and bizarre, the better. I'm talking about "pondering the existence of Cthulhu" bizarre. I want some head-scratchers people! We record Wednesday evening, so be sure to have them in by then.

[Last chance! We record in a couple of hours, so get those questions in.]

Tomocast 34: Dragon Ball Z photo

Wow, that took a while, huh? Well, when you combine a company that suddenly decides to drop a majority of the podcasts they host and the rigors of day-to-day life, sometimes it takes a bit of time to get things rolling again. Thankfully, things have been sorted and the Tomo-faithful should be getting our voices blasted into their ears again! Unfortunately, this comes at the price of losing the old Tomocast RSS feed, so no iTunes for now. Give it a couple of episodes and we'll have that bad boy up again! Feel free to ask any questions in the comments.

Anyway, back from the distant time that was late-January, I bring you our Dragon Ball Z episode. Highly anticipated by the folks involved, it was a ton of fun to record. Chris Pranger, Rio McCarthy and Andres Cerrato brought their A-game as we discussed one of, if not the most popular shonen franchises ever made. You can download the episode here, use our RSS feed or hit the jump to stream it, as well as read the show notes. Enjoy!

It's finally that time folks. After all the hype on (and off) the air, Tomocast will finally be hitting up Akira Toriyama's animated classic, Dragon Ball Z. We'll of course be talking about the series that was and still is such a big hit both in Japan and the States. Dragon Ball and GT will also be mentioned, but expect a lot of blond hair and muscle talk. As is the usual for these things, we need questions, so please ask away!

Note that we're currently having a problem with our host, so previous episodes are currently unavilable. As soon as things are worked out, we'll have this and all of our old episode back up and running!

Tomocast Special: A look back at 2011 photo
Tomocast Special: A look back at 2011
by Pedro Cortes

It has definitely been one helluva year in the toy collecting community and at Tomopop. A lot of changes have occurred, but the one thing that has been consistent is our drive to bring you the best in toy news and entertainment. It has been my absolute pleasure to host Tomocast during 2011, made that much more enjoyable by having some of the best folks on the internet as guests. I've brought many of these people back to talk about the best and worst things of 2011 and what they're looking forward to in 2012.

You can download the episode here, subscribe (and review!) us on iTunes or hit the jump to listen to the episode and find out how to win Uplark's Rei Ayanami with Entry Plug (reviewed), sponsored by Hobby Link Japan. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed recording it!

Tomocast 33: Licensed/Movie Toys photo
Tomocast 33: Licensed/Movie Toys
by Pedro Cortes

That's right folks, we finally got another episode up! Rio McCarthey, Andres Cerrato and Chris Pranger joined me to talk about the perilous world of licensed toys. We had a good time recounting some of the worst pieces of plastic that we got our hands on and, on occasion, the nicer toys that we got. The pictures in the gallery are some of the toys that we brought up on air, so you can suffer along with us!

As usual, you can download the episode here, follow us on iTunes or hit the jump to listen. Also, please rate and review us on iTunes if you got a couple of minutes. Enjoy!

Sorry for the delay folks, but it's time yet again for Tomocast to caress the inside of your ears. Using the seductive voices of Rio McCarthy, Andres Cerrato and Chris Pranger, we're going to talk about licensed toys and the movies/shows they come from. We're bound to get rowdy with this one, especially if my memories of the old Star Trek: The Next Generation toys comes back at the right moment.

As usual, we'll need your questions, so go ahead and hit us up!

Tomocast 32: Macross photo
Tomocast 32: Macross

This is one of those episodes that I've been waiting to do for a while. I love the Macross franchise, what with the typically excellent music, dramatic stories, sexy ladies and sexier planes. So for this episode, I got associate editor Andres Cerrato, Japanator associate editor Hiroko Yamamura and MAHQ's Chris Guanche together to talk about the series as a whole, along with the toys, music, planes, etc.

As usual, you can hit the jump to stream the episode, download it here or subscribe (and rate us!) us on iTunes. Enjoy!

I was joined by head honcho Brian Szabelski and newcomers Jackie Zysk and Natalie Kipper.
