Tomopop Review: Real Action Heroes Link

I've got a real soft spot for Real Action Heroes Link. Not only because, like many people, I dearly love The Legend of Zelda, but because he was one of the first major pieces of news I covered after I joined the site. As...

Medicom updates with first RAH Ultimate Madoka gallery photo
Medicom updates with first RAH Ultimate Madoka gallery
by Jeremy Emerje Crocker

First seen live only last week we're now getting some official images straight from Medicom of Ultimate Madoka from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. She's looking mighty impressive under the right lighting. Her flowing dress is quite magnificent with the inside completely blacked out in peppered with stars. Not only are we given a closeup look at her happy, smiley face, but also of her previously unseen  angry face. Plus we're given a look at the articulation hidden in both her wings and her hair.

Medicom has also revealed the release details for the first time. As expected she won't be cheap, priced at ¥33,000. But that's OK, you've got nearly a year to save up as she won't be released until a very distant February 2015. Can't rush greatness.

Tomopop LinkUP: March madness

Why is March such a painful month for us? It seems like every march we get bombarded with a  bunch of cool stuff that we all want all at once. Do companies think that we've recovered from the holidays by now and can affo...

Dust off this Real Action Heroes Levi preview photo
Dust off this Real Action Heroes Levi preview
by Martin Siggers

Medicom is spoiling us with Real Action Heroes recently. Rio took a look at the lovely Ryuko Matoi earlier today, so it's only fair I level the battle of the sexes by presenting this equally stunning rendition of Levi from Attack On Titan. The good people over at the Amiami blog had a chance to go up close and personal and show off what you're getting.

With their cool looking uniforms, cloaks, and incredibly elaborate maneuver gear, the Attack On Titan cast were pretty much born to be added to the Real Action Heroes range, and Levi doesn't disappoint, looking just as great as Mikasa before him. Aside from his usual dour expression we've also got...his usual dour expression with his eyes shifted to the right. Yeah, that seems like a pretty big waste, but his third face, bug eyed and ruffle haired, is a great one, so let's let it slide.

Perhaps the coolest detail is that the initial production run will include bonus accessories in the form of Levi's cleaning hat, bandanna and dusters, basically giving you an entire second outfit. That's what I call a tempting pre-order incentive. Levi will go up for order on the 24th, and yes, that's the same day as Ryuko. Lovers of Real Action Heroes, brace your wallets for when the pair arrive in November.

Medicom's RAH Ryuko Matoi is looking lovely! photo
Medicom's RAH Ryuko Matoi is looking lovely!
by Rio McCarthy

Why hello there, Ryuko - if it isn't my favorite butt kicker in a current anime series! Medicom Toy's Real Action Heroes Ryuko Matoi Senketsu ver. was a huge hit at Wonder Festival 2014 Winter this year, as it should have been, and it looks like we'll be able to get our pre-orders in for her soon. They nailed her spot on in my book, and I can't wait to have this lovely lady sitting next to me on my desk.

AmiAmi Blog had a post reviewing the details of the figure, and it looks wonderful, especially getting to see all of the details up close. I don't think there is a single thing I dislike about this figure. It's going to retail for right around US$200, and should be going up for pre-order on February 24th in Japan. However, it won't be seeing shelves until some time in November 2014. At least we already know it looks this good in color!

RAH Cammy and Chun Li are ready to fight for pre-orders

It's a wonder what happens when a company decides to make figures of a popular, well-received franchise. While Medicom has released a lot of figures in its Real Action Heroes line, they weren't always what the mass market gra...

RAH Levi gets a gallery... sort of

Medicom has released some images of its upcoming Real Action Heroes Levi (Attack on Titan). The only problem is, well, they're kind of limited... as in only being head shots. But hey, that's one nice-looking head, right? Besi...

Medicom introduces Real Action Heroes of Chun Li & Cammy

If a company makes a hit, there will be others to see that demand into their products. Medicom has tackled Street Fighter and these two before, but that's not stopping them from releasing two new Real Action Hero 1/6 figures ...

Stand By Ready for this Real Action Heroes Nanoha preview photo
Stand By Ready for this Real Action Heroes Nanoha preview
by Martin Siggers

After recently being unveiled at the Miyazawa Model Expo, we've now got our hands on a much more comprehensive preview of Real Action Heroes Nanoha, portrayed in her new 'Excellion Mode' from the recent movie. I have to say, it's looking good for fans of the red-headed magical girl. The gallery shows off Nanoha from a variety of angles, really letting us see the detail that's been put into her outfit and look. We also get confirmation she'll include three faces - a rather bland neutral expression alongside excellent 'smiling' and 'angry' faces.

There's also a better look at her included accessories, which mostly consist of Raising Heart in shooting mode along with a truckload of effects parts, including her trademark wing feet. Is it me or does Raising Heart's head look a little crooked in some of these shots? Let's hope that's just an illusion. There's also a rare shot of Nanoha with her jacket off, confirming that as ever Medicom have taken the time to detail every layer. They don't show how the jacket comes off though - considering those shoulders and gauntlets look like solid plastic, I'm guessing it's not a simple process.

There's a few weird omissions here (no regular mode Raising Heart? No Yuuno?) but overall this looks like another excellent release from Medicom and a must have for Nanoha superfans. Mind you, at a price of ¥23,600 you'd hope so. Pre-orders will open on the 24th (this Sunday) with Nanoha due to arrive in August of next year.
