NECA's elusive 2014 Godzilla emerges online photo
NECA's elusive 2014 Godzilla emerges online
by Vanessa Cubillo

We are now entering the final months before Godzilla finally hits movie theaters in May. For the most part, Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros has tried to keep everything about this movie secret. So trying to get a look at the new figures from companies like NECA and Bandai have been hard.

They don’t want us to see what Godzilla looks like unless he’s eating a Snickers bar. Of, course that Godzilla isn’t the one that will be in the movie. At NY Toy Fair, NECA had their 2014 Godzilla figure on display, but pictures weren’t allowed.

However, today they gave exclusive photos of their figure to Toho Kingdom, so finally we get to see it. Here we see there are two versions of Godzilla; one painted, and one unpainted. These two versions are also two different sizes that will be available.

So there will be one that measures 12 inches head to tail, and one that measures 24 inches head to tail. Now that you’ve seen NECA’s new figure, what do you think about this new Godzilla?

NECA shows sneak peek of NES 8-bit Predator photo
NECA shows sneak peek of NES 8-bit Predator
by Vanessa Cubillo

To the delight  of many fans, NECA is continuing their Nintendo 8-bit figure series. It all started with SDCC NES 8-bit Jason, and continued with NES 8-bit Freddy, then followed up by NES 8-bit RoboCop. Now Predator will join the line.

NECA teased this new addition yesterday on Twitter, so no other information is known aside from this small image. Based on the 1987 NES video game, Predator is painted similar to Jason in bright blue and purple. I’m sure he’ll also come in retro style packaging. I wonder what kind of accessories he’ll come with?

Tomopop Review: NECA Prometheus David and Deacon photo
Tomopop Review: NECA Prometheus David and Deacon
by Vanessa Cubillo

Released in 2012, Prometheus was one of those movies that had fans down the middle. It definitely generated a lot of buzz, but I can’t say that most of that was a positive. Designed as a prequel to the Alien series, Prometheus introduced new characters to explain the mythology of the world Ridley Scott created.

NECA has taken this license and has so far released three series of figures from the movie. Series 2 features figures of David 8 and the Deacon. Does NECA’s skill and attention to detail do these figures justice?

Are they worthy enough to stand with the other Alien figures that have come out in the past? Or will these figures be just like the movie, a mix between good and bad? Let’s start unboxing under the cut.
