Along with having a very awesome booth, Blizzard's San Diego Comic-Con presence also included a panel, the Blizzard Entertainment 2014 Showcase. Jason Bischoff, the company's Senior Toys and Collectibles Manager, was in attendance and previewed some of the upcoming toys heading our way. There is a lot for fans of Blizzard's games to be excited about!

Attendees got another look the new plushes (along with their con-exclusive variants) that we saw in the previous SDCC post. We also got a glimpse of what Sideshow Collectibles' impressive Kerrigan 1:6 statue will look like painted. The Deathwing statue that was previewed last year was also shown in color. They also announced 1:6 figures of Raynor and Tychus (US$499.99 each). Funko revealed their upcoming line of Blizzard Mystery Minis. Each blind-box is priced at US$5.95. Slides were also shown of there upcoming Pop! Vinyl Series 2 toys (US$10- $15), which were on display at Blizzard's booth. NECA showcased their Diablo III figure variant (US$24.99) as well debuted their action figures for Heroes of the Storm.

All of the toys shown are either currently available at the Blizzard online store or will be in the future.

San Diego Comic-Con attendees swarmed Blizzard's booth at the event and with so much new and exclusive merchandise, it was easy to see why. The company certainly blew me away with the sheer scope and quality of not only its purchasable items but also its future releases. Read on to see all that Blizzard brought to the table.

Bring home the cuddly terror: NECA's (Gremlins) Mogwai series 5 available for pre-order photo
Bring home the cuddly terror: NECA's (Gremlins) Mogwai series 5 available for pre-order
by Scarecroodle

While NECA's conventional Gremlins offerings seem stalled, the company showed off a FIFTH series of Mogwais at SDCC. As with series 4, the assortment features concept Mogwais originally designed for Gremlins 2: The New Batch.

The new Mogwais are apparently named Patches (that's the calico), Gary (he's all-white), and Zoe (light brown & white). I'm not sure whether these are the original concept names or whether NECA did the naming themselves. However, I know that I really like the look of Patches and I'm moderately tempted to grab Zoe as well just to have a second "female" Mogwai (to keep Penny company on my shelf; you know, overlooking that Mogwai and Gremlins shouldn't have genders (since they reproduce asexually) despite the film's She-Gremlin).

Of the three, Gary seems to be the only Mogwai with a new face. However, the face is probably the least cute one seen thus far and the all-white deco seems boring despite standing out in comparison to the other Mogwai. On the plus side, Gary will be nearly immune to paint app errors.

Although the placard at the booth clearly said "October", NECA's press information for the figures instead lists them as being a November release. The figures are currently available for pre-order either individually for US$14 apiece or together for US$40 (although, at the time of writing, Zoe cannot be pre-ordered separately). Be sure to check out our SDCC photos of the trio in the gallery.

SDCC 2014: NECA photo
SDCC 2014: NECA

NECA's SDCC booth featured a mix of Aliens merch (including a new Ripley!), more Yu-Gi-Oh! items, Godzilla figures (both new and retro), Gremlins Mogwai series 5 (!!!), Robocop vs. Terminator items, zombie Galactus, and so much more. Between killer robots, giant monsters, aliens, and the rest, if NECA's offerings have an overarching theme it's that the future will not be good for humanity.

Highlights after the jump.

Hail to the (Alien) Queen, baby! photo
Hail to the (Alien) Queen, baby!
by Scarecroodle

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the scifi classic Aliens, NECA has announced plans to release a massive Alien Queen in scale with the company's other Xenomorph-themed offerings. She's available for pre-order now.

NECA's Alien Queen is billed as measuring 15-inches tall and over 30-inches in length (to the tip of her tail), making her one of largest figures NECA has ever produced. To top it off, the royal terror will feature 30 points of articulation, two interchangeable inner mouth pieces, and a display stand. In short, she's pretty awesome.

NECA's Alien Queen has a US$95 list price and is slated for a November release. While I may have been perfectly happy to buy NECA's Spider Gremlin, I think may pass on the Alien Queen since I'm not as fond of the Alien franchise and she's a good deal more expensive.

'What's your favorite scary movie?', NECA to release Retro Style Ghostface

NECA shows preview of their 30th anniversary Ultimate Freddy photo
NECA shows preview of their 30th anniversary Ultimate Freddy
by Vanessa Cubillo

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Nightmare on Elm Street, NECA is releasing an Ultimate Freddy figure. This figure will include accessories that will remind you of some of your favorite moments from the movie. Standing at seven inches tall, Freddy will come with a new fully articulated lower half so you can move his thighs and knees.

There will also be three interchangeable heads so you can see him serious, smiling, or with his burned skull face. Now, as a fan of the original movie, the accessories for this figure is what makes this great. Included will be a left hand that has two fingers cut off, a dead skin mask, his fedora, and a tongue phone.

That tongue scene was always my favorite part! Coming in a special 30th anniversary window box, the Ultimate Freddy figure will be released in September.

NECA's elusive 2014 Godzilla emerges online photo
NECA's elusive 2014 Godzilla emerges online
by Vanessa Cubillo

We are now entering the final months before Godzilla finally hits movie theaters in May. For the most part, Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros has tried to keep everything about this movie secret. So trying to get a look at the new figures from companies like NECA and Bandai have been hard.

They don’t want us to see what Godzilla looks like unless he’s eating a Snickers bar. Of, course that Godzilla isn’t the one that will be in the movie. At NY Toy Fair, NECA had their 2014 Godzilla figure on display, but pictures weren’t allowed.

However, today they gave exclusive photos of their figure to Toho Kingdom, so finally we get to see it. Here we see there are two versions of Godzilla; one painted, and one unpainted. These two versions are also two different sizes that will be available.

So there will be one that measures 12 inches head to tail, and one that measures 24 inches head to tail. Now that you’ve seen NECA’s new figure, what do you think about this new Godzilla?
