Good Smile Company reveals Winter Wonder Festival exclusives photo
Good Smile Company reveals Winter Wonder Festival exclusives
by Martin Siggers

With Winter WonFes 2015 less than a month away, Good Smile have stepped up to reveal the exclusive goods that they'll be selling at the event, thus saving us the agony of speculation and second guessing that used to characterise the event.

As is always the case at Winter WonFes, Snow Miku headlines the exclusives available, with her fan-designed 'Snow Bell' look available in both Nendoroid and figma forms. We've also got a rather striking Nendoroid of Battleship Re-Class from Kantai Collection and another Saber figma, this time an unarmoured 'Dress ver.'.

As with all WonFes exclusives in recent years these will also be available from the Good Smile Online Shop for a limited period of time. GSC will also take any remaining stock touring round the world on the convention trail, so if the company attends an event near you that might be a smart time to get your hands on this stuff. Online sales will be made to order so as long as you get in between the 8th and 16th of February you'll be guaranteed to get one. The two Snow Mikus will be ¥4,500 apiece while saber and Re-Class will set you back a little more at ¥5,000.

Honestly I'm a little underwhelmed, but then I'm not a huge fan of any of these characters. Any of you readers out there really liking what you're seeing?

Max Factory's Chitoge goes up for pre-order

What's this? Max Factory's making gorilla figures? Well it's not an actual gorilla, it's Nisekoi's Chitoge Kirisaki! The design is pretty basic as you can see, but her lively expression and the detailed sculpt make this figur...

Max Factory's new 1/7 Hatsune Miku is all jeweled up

Let's not kid ourselves, Miku has received a lot of PVC figures. This isn't as bad a thing as I've thought in the past, especially with the bar being raised each time. Max Factory is throwing in yet another effort to capture ...

Pre-order these now, because a figma is nothing without its horse

Every hero (or moe schoolgirl) needs a trusty mount - that's beyond questioning. So it's unfortunate that the figma world has gone on so long without one. Those days will soon be over, as two figma horse variants have gone up...

Tomopop Review: Max Factory's Mea Kurosaki photo
Tomopop Review: Max Factory's Mea Kurosaki
by Tianxiao Ma

Mea hails from To Love-Ru Darkness, and as you can probably tell, the manga has its fair share of ecchi elements. Before Mea, Max Factory has also made a 1/6-scale Momo Velia Deviluke from the same property. The two share a theme in terms of their frilly lingerie.

I loved the Momo figure when it came out, and HobbyLink Japan has generously hooked me up with the companion piece. Read on to find out if it's up to snuff - although you can probably guess the conclusion since this is Max Factory we're talking about.

figma Lucina sword-swings into pre-orders photo
figma Lucina sword-swings into pre-orders
by Scarecroodle

Max Factory's hotly anticipated figma Lucina (Fire Emblem: Awakening) is currently available for pre-order.

While franchise fans may remember the character from Fire Emblem: Awakening, the rest will undoubtedly know Lucina from her appearance in the latest Super Smash Bros. game. Even if you're completely unfamiliar with the character, however, she sports a pretty cool design. figma Lucina comes with her sword (and scabbard), mask, an alternate hair piece, and an alternate smiling face.

Max Factory's figma Lucina can be pre-ordered for around ¥6,296 (I miss when these were around ¥3000!) and is slated for an April release.

2015 Snow Bell Miku gets both a Nendoroid and figma! photo
2015 Snow Bell Miku gets both a Nendoroid and figma!
by Jeremy Emerje Crocker

Snow Miku Snow Bell ver. is cute. Like, beyond belief adorably cute. Way too cute to be left as just a single figure so Good Smile Company and Max Factory are spreading the love. 2015 will be the first year were a new Snow Miku design will be used for both a new Nedoroid and a new figma! Ah, they're so great, and I'm glad we're finally getting a figma that isn't just a repaint of another Miku. Both figures will also be accompanied by their own little Yukine bunny figure.

Details are pretty light at the moment, though I'm sure we won't have to wait too long before we see and learn more about these figures. Of course they'll be available at Wonder Festival 2015 (Winter) on February 8 when we'll all have the opportunity to place an order online! As a special treat they're also adding Snow Bell Miku to the Hatsune Miku Project Diva arcade game.

Kahotan previews a beefcake from Dramatical Murder photo
Kahotan previews a beefcake from Dramatical Murder
by Tianxiao Ma

With the amount of attention I pay to boobs and (female) butts, it seems only fair that I cover some eye candy for the ladies too. Max Factory's upcoming figure of Ren from Dramatical Murder fits the bill very nicely!

Kahotan's preview shows off two versions of Ren: the cloaked Wonderful Hobby Selection version (dubbed "Rhyme Mode ver.") and a permanently topless "Together, Forever" version. If you're after the abs, you probably won't have any issues with either version. However I'm somewhat miffed by the decision to put out an exclusive WHS version at nearly double the price (something we also saw with Yamato). I feel that the WHS version is the true version of the figure - the one that Max Factory would have sold in the past at a normal price. Maybe economics has made this unfeasible, but there's something bothersome about a stripped down (in both senses) figure for ¥10,000+.

Speaking of pricing, the "Rhyme Mode" variant will be ¥19,800 while the barebones "Together, Forever" version will be ¥10,800. Pre-orders started a couple of weeks ago and are still open if you're interested.
