Ami Futami takes the stage as pre-orders open

Idolmaster hasn't been on my radar for a while, but it seems like the iconic twin Ami Futami has grown up a bit. MegaHouse has her looking joyous in this Princess Melody version. The figure has two optional arm parts that you...

Yayoi Takatsuki dancing into pre-orders tonight photo
Yayoi Takatsuki dancing into pre-orders tonight
by Kristina Pino

Made it through last night's pre-orders? Or passed it up to get to the other goods tonight?

I briefly mentioned an iDOLM@STER-related pre-order going down tonight, but now I've got a lovely little preview for you to go with it thanks to Dengeki. For fans, the Brilliant Stage iDOLM@STER 2 Yayoi Takatsuki is set for ¥8,190 retail and a February release date.

Yayoi has come a long way in the short time between when we posted her blank prototype scans and the images we're looking at in the gallery. The girl looks beyond cute -- so happy and lively and she even comes with a few accessories that go on her arm or around her neck. That smile is contagious.

Check out the pictures and be sure to let us know if you need to add this to your collection.

[UPDATE: Yayoi is now available for pre-order! You can nab her now for ¥7800 over at Hobby SearchHobbyLink Japan, and Big in Japan.]

The next Angelic Island IM@S girls are...Yayoi & Hibiki! photo
The next Angelic Island IM@S girls are...Yayoi & Hibiki!
by Chang Su

Between up & coming figure makers and well-established companies, Kotobukiya has no shortage of competition in the figure world these days, but when it comes to the Idolm@ster girls, I prefer their Angelic Island series. Skimpy swimsuits aside, I've always felt that the vidgeo games' character designs are a bit wooden, so I really dig the fact that Kotobukiya has chosen to adopt the anime's style. As the post on the official Kotobukiya blog shows, Makoto is looking to be a great start to a great line. But the real kicker lies at the end of the post: official announcement of the next two Angelic Island entries -- Takatsuki Yayoi and Ganaha Hibiki!

Some of you might have already known about Yayoi from Wonder Festival, but this is the first time Hibiki has been revealed. Yayoi has always been my favourite idol, and Hibiki is pretty high up there in my personal Idolm@ster tier list, so I can't wait to see a prototype of her. For now, I suppose I'll have to make do with these silhouettes and keep crossing my finger for Takane's turn.

What do you think of the Angelic Island line, and which idol are you looking forward to seeing?

Complete the idol trio with Wave's Futami Ami

Are you a completionist when it comes to figure sets? Does the sight of your Ryuugu Komachi Iori and Azusa rub you the wrong way? If you answered "yes" to both of those questions, then you might be in luck, because Wave ...

MegaHobby Expo 2012 Spring coming on May 26 photo
MegaHobby Expo 2012 Spring coming on May 26
by Brian Szabelski

On Saturday, May 26, MegaHobby Expo Spring 2012 will open its doors to the public in the middle of Akihabara, with plenty of new figures to gawk over and photograph (well, the ones they let you, anyways). In attendance will be MegaHouse, Alter, Kotobukiya, Hobby Japan, Nitroplus, Yoyogi Animation Gakuin and more. Like last spring, the expo will be taking place at Akihabara UDX Event Gallery, and it'll be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Japan time.

The show will have exclusives as well: From MegaHouse, the 2P version of Queen's Blade Rebellion's Captain Liliana in 1/8-scale; the Brilliant Stage line's figure of Idolmaster 2's Amami Haruka in scarlet red; and three small-figure sets featuring Tiger & Bunny's Kotetsu, Homura and Madoka from Puella Magi Madoka Magica; and Yu Narukami and Izanagi from Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena. From Alter, we're getting a white swimsuit version of that Selvaria Bles figure. You know, the one you guys weren't too hot on before. Anyone expecting some big announcements at MegaHobby Expo this spring?
