Tomopop Review: FuRyu's Cardcaptor Sakura

The drought of Cardcaptor Sakura figures has long been a source of incredible frustration to me. The series has everything you need to make an army of great collectibles - cute girls, handsome boys, annoying mascots and ...

FuRyu's Eren Yeager is looking impressive for a prize figure

I'm pretty late at this, but I'm finally watching Attack on Titan now that the English dub is airing on Toonami. I'm really enjoying it, though it hasn't exactly been what I was expecting. Somehow I thought it would be a lot ...

FuRyu's Mikasa Ackerman is finally previewed
by Kristina Pino

A little over a month ago, we had just a peek at this Mikasa figure when we had a look at her partner in plastic, Eren. And it's about time, too, since she's due for release in June.

Check out the gallery for some pictures from FuRyu's production blog, and let us know what your thoughts are! Personally, I think she's great for a prize figure. I mean, I guess her hair looks a little goopy, but it's tough to argue with ~¥1,600.

Biggish gallery appears for FuRyu's biggish Colossal Titan

At 21-cm tall, FuRyu's Colossal Titan is big enough to tower over your Attack on Titan figma... even if he doesn't exactly scale well. The recently released soft vinyl figure has received a decent-sized photo gallery that sho...

Tomopop LinkUP: Gold Medal Panic photo
Tomopop LinkUP: Gold Medal Panic
by Jeremy Emerje Crocker

Hello and welcome back to Tomopop LinkUP! It's been a pretty busy week in all sorts of ways. We're still plowing our way through Wonder Festival coverage with the shadow of Toy Fair looming over us. But outside of that the Olympics are in full swing once again and Valentine's Day is tomorrow, probably the two best events for precious metals. Man, why is the shortest month of the year also the busiest?

This week we've got more galleries, customs, LEGO pieces, and plushies. Follow me after the jump to see it all! Incidentally, I've tried to watch Full Metal Panic twice and still haven't finished the first season...

Tomopop LinkUP: Beach movie photo
Tomopop LinkUP: Beach movie
by Jeremy Emerje Crocker

Hello and welcome back to Tomopop LinkUP! I know I've complained at least once already about the winter, but when dealing with subzero temps as often as we have this year I think it warrants some additional complaining. They say the best way to deal with the cold is to think about warm weather, but that's just something people from warm climates say.

Still, the Japanese seem to be pretty content with the warm thoughts; just look at all of the bathing suit-clad figures they've been cranking out this winter! I don't even remember the last time I went to the beach; it's been years. My parents have a pool, at least, but I only used it once last year. Man, I need to get more sun...

Anyway, this week we've got more girls in swimwear, oddball movie toys, and even some hand-knit TV toys. Follow me in to the deep end after the jump!

Someone finally got around to making Cardcaptor Sakura

For years I've dreamed of someone making scale Cardcaptor Sakura figures and allowing me to own a piece of my childhood. I even nominated Sakura herself for our Fantasy Figurine article earlier this year, and while ...

Get a better look at FuRyu's HENNEKO prize figures

Last month in March we got our first look at FuRyu's new pair of prize figures based on the new anime the "Hentai" Prince and the Stony Cat currently streaming on Crunchyroll. New images have arrived showing off the duo in mu...

FuRyu prepares for the spring season with HENNEKO figures
by Jeremy Emerje Crocker

We're now in the tail end of March, so you know what that means! New anime season! One of the most anticipated titles coming our way for the spring season is the "Hentai" Prince and the Stony Cat (Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko) or HENNEKO for short. Based on the light novel series by Sou Sagara it follows the story of a boy who is no longer able to keep his inner most thoughts to himself after praying to a stony cat.

This is a pretty impressive looking set of prize figures from FuRyu, a company I usually associate with lackluster sculpting. Not only is the sculpting nice and playful, but the bases cleverly keeps both figures from touching the ground. Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi sits suspended in the moon while Azusa Azuki is jumping with both feet off the ground; both making cute cat poses. Best part is that their bases can be connected into a single display. I really have to give FuRyu credit for their creativity on this one, the poses are based in part on official art, but I'm pretty sure the rest is all them.

No real word on release, just that they'll be out this year. Seeing as how our first look at the pair is already painted they probably aren't too far away. Being prize figures their price is going to depend on the shops rather than any sort of MSRP. The anime itself begins on April 14 and while an English simulcast hasn't been announced yet you can be sure we'll be getting word on one soon enough.

Tomopop Review: FuRyu's Kuroyukihime photo
Tomopop Review: FuRyu's Kuroyukihime
by Pedro Cortes

On my incredibly large list of shows that I plan to watch is Accel World, a seinen anime about a unpopular guy that decides to help out a girl in a game involving a highly-evolved form of the Internet. The concept is pretty interesting and the lead gal, one Kuroyukihime, is quite cute. This lady has had a couple of nice figures pop up, so it's with pleasure that I bring you this review of FuRyu's prize figure Kuroyukihime, courtesy of HobbyLink Japan.

Hit the jump to read up on this little cutie!
