Ponder no more: figma The Thinker is up for pre-order

Rodin's "The Thinker" being made into a figma can be described as "interesting," "a bizarre decision" or "literally figures as art." It can also now be described as up for pre-order! The first entry in Max Factory's Table Mus...

figma blog shows off Cardcaptor Sakura prototype

As I've noted several times before, I'm a huge Cardcaptor Sakura fan and the series's recent return to the front lines of the anime toy world has filled me with unmitigated glee. We've known for a while now that Max Fact...

NYCC 2014: Good Smile Company Up-close

Good Smile Company is awesome for getting us right up close with their latest display pieces at New York Comic Con! You can practically smell the fresh paint on the figures! This is as close as you can get without being there...

figma the Thinker can't sit still for this gallery

Statues aren't supposed to move, but don't tell FREEing that. Their new figma based on Rodin's 1902 masterpiece is all about the ROM (range of motion). Being essentially a naked figma (and I do mean naked), and of the 2.0 var...

It's fall, time to take your figmas to school

There are an endless number of figma schoolgirls out there (I counted, they're infinite), but they've always lacked a school setting to hang out in. Max Factory is rectifying that now with the figmaPLUS line of display sets. ...

Give Shimakaze a friend: figma Amatsukaze goes up for pre-order

Amatsukaze is one of the cuter Kantai Collection designs that I've seen, and she pushes a lot of the same buttons as Shimakaze does. Their respective designs have a lot of parallels including their outrageously short skirts (...

Checking out this figma Flyboy Zombie preview gallery is a no-brainer photo
Checking out this figma Flyboy Zombie preview gallery is a no-brainer
by Scarecroodle

Max Factor has released a preview gallery for its upcoming Dawn of the Dead figma "Flyboy" (pilot Stephen Andrews) Zombie which highlights alternate parts like a blood burst for the head, an interchangeable "exploded" leg, and an interchangeable head you can stick a machete in. Basically this figure features a LOT of spoilers for thirty+ year old films.

The original Dawn of the Dead is something of a classic (the new one was pretty cool as well, love that bedroom scene) and it's been cool (but also a little odd) to see it honored with this figma. Max Factory has really managed to capture some gruesome detail with the figure. I absolutely love the extreme blood drip all along the front of the figure and the choice of accessories are just too awesome. For all you horror-hounds out there, expect pre-orders to open in the very near future.

Also, my sincere apologies for everybody who was waiting to see this film. Although, in fairness, you probably should have seen it when it first came out on laser disc... or later when it came out on VHS... or even later when it came out on DVD... or when it was finally released on Blu-ray about seven years ago.

Wonder Festival 2014 Summer: Good Smile Company - miscellaneous

Continuing with Good Smile Company's (and associates) apparently near-infinite display at WonFes, we arrive at some Attack on Titan figures and a bunch of Sonicos. GSC usually does a decent job with Sonico figures in that I d...
